The news comes almost exactly a year after sources told DailyMail.com exclusively that Diaz wasn’t planning on returning to Hollywood after Back in Action.

There is no word yet on what character Diaz will play, or who Hill will play alongside his writing and directing duties.
Hill will also serve as a producer alongside Matt Dines, Ali Goodwin through their Strong Baby production company.
No production schedule has been given at this time, and it’s unclear when Apple is planning on releasing the project.
Diaz’s turn in the upcoming Back in Action will be her first role in a decade, since 2014’s Annie.
The actress had said that after Annie she planned on taking a break from acting, stating that she was getting tired of travelling for filming.
She confirmed in 2017 that she was retired, though it was reported in 2022 that she was coming out of retirement to star alongside Jamie Foxx in Back in Action.
Diaz and Foxx play two former spies who get dragged back into the covert operative life when their identies are exposed.
The production was thrown for a loop when Foxx reportedly had a ‘meltdown’ on the set that resulted in three people being fired, with Foxx later hospitalized for an incident or an ailment that hasn’t been fully explained quite yet.

A source close to the actress revealed that she doesn’t have any issues with Foxx, though she didn’t want to be away from her daughter that long.
‘These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix. Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world,’ the source shared.
‘She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired from the business in the first place,’ she source adds. ‘She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone.’
‘Cameron is a businessperson and understands that this is necessary at times and, honestly, Jamie is the only reason that she is doing this film and they are still very close.’
