As excitement builds around the new Buffy The Vampire reboot, one of the original stars of the show has revealed whether she will be in the new show.
Charisma Carpenter, 55, who played Cordelia Chase on the fantasy series for two years in the 1990s, has revealed she has not been contacted by the show’s producers about reprising her role.
In a TikTok video responding to a question about whether she’ll be in the updated Buffy, she replied, ‘I am not in the reboot. I am not in the pilot. I don’t even know if the show has been picked up to go to series. I assume it will be.’
She then told inquiring minds that the name of her new podcast, The B***h Is Back, was not ‘an Easter egg, à la Taylor Swift,’ that she would be returning.
‘It was not intended to sound decoded in any kind of way, alluding to the fact that I was admitting to being in the reboot,’ she explained.
She then reiterated, ‘I have not had a conversation with any of the powers that be to include Cordelia at this point.’

In a separate video, responding to a fan’s question about whether she would tell her fans if she were to sign on for the reboot, she answered, ‘No, I would not tell you.’
‘I would likely be under embargo and not be allowed to tell you, or even say anything about it. So, I would just not say anything about it,’ she told them with a wink.
In the meantime, Sarah Michelle Gellar, 48, shared video of her and the new Slayer, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, going through a training session with Tadeusz Gauer on August 1.

The grueling routine showed her and Armstrong, 15, lifting weights, practicing planks on stability balls and doing squats on BOSUs.
‘THE slayer training with the new chosen one,’ wrote one excited fan.
‘I can’t believe it’s 2025 and we’re getting this lead up. We did it guys. *Single tear drops into hellmouth*’penned another.
Of course, the fans had some suggestions about which characters should be returning.

Another thought a small part for Anthony Head might be in order as well. ‘I really hope this continuation has Giles.
‘He at least must make a small appearance although it would be great if he was a recurring character of course,’ they suggested.
Gellar and the producers are keeping their cards close to their vests.
Much more should be revealed when the pilot is released sometime in 2026.
