Bruce Springsteen has made history as the first international songwriter to become a Fellow Of The Ivors Academy.
The US-born rock star, 74, was on Tuesday bestowed with the the highest honour the British organisation can give.
He said: ‘I’m proud to be the first international songwriter to be recognised by The Ivors Academy.
‘In addition to recognising my songwriting, the award stands as a tribute to the fans and friends who have supported me and my work for the last fifty years.
‘This entire country has made me feel welcome every step of the way, and for this, I will always remain deeply appreciative.’

His induction into the academy marks his impact on British culture over the years, having sold more than 140 million records worldwide and won an Oscar, a Tony and a Grammy.
The Born in the USA rocker joins other music legends like Sir Paul McCartney, Kate Bush CBE, Joan Armatrading CBE, and Sting, who received the award in 2023.
Often thought of as the pinnacle of music, the annual ceremony is judged by award-winning songwriters and composers from The Ivors Academy.

Previous winners have included Adele, Stormzy, RAYE, Little Simz, Cathy Dennis, Annie Lennox, Amy Winehouse, Dave and John Lennon.

Last year, former Police frontman Sting performed a special rendition of his song Message in a Bottle as he was honoured with the prestigious Fellowship of The Ivors Academy
This year’s nominees will be announced on Tuesday 23 April and the winners will be revealed at The Ivors with Amazon Music at Grosvenor House in London on Thursday 23 May 2024.
Last year, Wet Leg and Harry Styles were among the stars who received Ivor Novello Awards, however both acts failed to attend the ceremony in London.
Elsewhere, Sting picked up the biggest award of the day, while indie band James and solo artist Raye also left the event with gongs.
Raye performed Escapism, and she and her co-writers 070 Shake and Mike Sabath won the award for Best Contemporary Song for the track
