Brooklyn Beckham makes calculated power play that shows his new loyalties… in spicy escalation of family feud

Brooklyn Beckham has teamed up with major US investors in a bid to rival his dad’s booming business empire – one that counts Snoop Dogg, Jamie Foxx and even Elon Musk among its celebrity partners, the Daily Mail can exclusively reveal.

The 26-year-old officially launched his hot sauce brand, Cloud23, in October 2024, and it’s now stocked in Whole Foods Markets across both the US and UK.

At the time he founded the company behind the brand, Buster Hot Sauce, it was widely believed Brooklyn received a financial boost from his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.

But with the family now reportedly estranged, he’s been forced to look elsewhere for cash to expand his culinary venture.

Talk of a cold-war style feud – with Brooklyn and his heiress wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, on one side and the rest of the Beckham clan on the other – date back to their 2022 wedding, where she allegedly declined to wear a Victoria Beckham gown, choosing Valentino Couture instead.

Nicola later denied any drama, telling Variety that Victoria’s atelier ‘couldn’t do it’ in time.

Still, tension seemed to escalate in May 2025 when Brooklyn and Nicola skipped David’s 50th birthday celebrations. Shortly after, his brothers, Cruz and Romeo, unfollowed him on Instagram.

Then came the couple’s vow renewal – reportedly held without informing or inviting any of Brooklyn’s family.

Now, the budding chef appears to have fully shifted his loyalties, turning from Team Beckham toward a new powerhouse backer: Morrison Seger Venture Capital Partners, one of America’s most influential venture capital firms.

Morrison Seger invested in Cloud23 over the summer, and the hot sauce now appears on the firm’s website.

It is listed alongside other high-profile brands in the firm’s portfolio, including Snoop Dogg’s ice cream brand, Dr Bombay, which features playful flavors such as Tropical Sherbet Swizzle and Syrupy Waffle Sundaze.

The firm has also backed Jamie Foxx’s whiskey brand, BSB Brown Sugar Blend, and Elon Musk’s trillion-dollar aerospace company, SpaceX, according to the Morrison Seger website.

Cole Hauser, famous for his role in Yellowstone, also has his brand, Free Rein Coffee Company, listed on the website.

The Daily Mail has reached out to both David and Brooklyn for comment.

Using private equity money is commonplace on both sides of the Atlantic, but Brooklyn is likely getting guidance from his billionaire father-in-law, Nelson Peltz – one of the most powerful business figures in the world.

Peltz’s firm, Trian Fund Management, has made billions through heavyweight investments in companies such as Heinz, Cadbury, Pepsi and Kraft Foods.

Brooklyn’s partnership with Morrison Seger is hardly a surprise, especially after the firm’s founder and CEO, Rogers Healy, penned a blog post emphasizing the growing importance of venture firms joining forces with A-list talent.

‘Celebrities aren’t just bright lights; they bring attention to your brand and (typically) massively engaging followings,’ he wrote. ‘Their endorsements can catapult your brand into the limelight faster than you can say “viral.”

‘Doesn’t every brand aim to go viral these days? This means more visibility, translating to more customers and increased loyalty.

It’s no shock that Morrison Seger partnered with Brooklyn, especially after CEO Rogers Healy emphasized in a blog post the benefits of venture firms teaming up with celebrity talent

‘Think about it. Having a celebrity endorse your brand can fast-track its launch and market penetration. It can also significantly boost your market reach and consumer engagement.

‘Celebrities’ fans often become loyal customers, driving growth and solidifying your market position.’

Healy added that now is a great time for celebrity-brand crossover.

‘We live in a time when finding the right person to endorse your product is more possible than ever,’ he said.

‘When it makes sense, don’t run from it – embrace it.

‘Having your brand backed by that specific star power can showcase uncapped potential. Then, connecting the dots (my favorite) becomes easier than ever, and those strategic partnerships make sense.

‘It’s time to think big and aim for the stars… literally and figuratively. Consider strategic celebrity partnerships for the success of your next venture. If the shoe fits, it might be time to roll out the red carpet for your next move when the time is right.’

Although the Beckham family appears split into two camps, David seems to be making quiet moves to mend the rift.

Sources close to David and Victoria say their eldest son’s absence has been ‘taking its toll,’ particularly after Brooklyn skipped two major milestones: watching his father receive his long-awaited knighthood last month and witnessing Inter Miami CF clinch the MLS title.

In what many see as a gentle olive branch, David appeared to reach out to Brooklyn on social media by sharing a nostalgic family moment.

Posting to his Instagram story last month, the former footballer uploaded a celebratory photo of himself, Victoria, Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper after Inter Miami’s recent championship win.

But included in the collage was a throwback snap of David with Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz from the 2011-2012 season, when he won the same cup as a player with LA Galaxy.

‘License to cry,’ David captioned the post, marking the emotional symmetry of becoming the first person in history to win the MLS Cup both as a player and as an owner, while subtly nodding to the son who wasn’t there to see it.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn had been fending off opposition over his hot sauce company’s trademark applications, with his most recent being from major sneaker brand On, famous for their signature Cloud shoes.

According to The Sun, the company hired celebrity-endorsed law firm Bristows, to object to Cloud23’s trademark application shortly after its official launch, under classifications such as food, booze, sauces, live streaming and sports equipment.

However, Brooklyn got lucky as both sides reportedly reached an amicable resolution as On never followed through with the objection – his trademark was registered.

This wasn’t the aspiring chef’s first brush with trademark trouble, though.

He had already sparred with Brauerei Beck & Co and California wine label Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars as Buster Sauce pushed into new markets.
