Brooklyn Beckham Joins European Team at Celebrity Ryder Cup

Brooklyn Beckham is trying his hand at yet another hobby, as he is among the famous names confirmed to be taking part in the Ryder Cup All-Star Celebrity Match in New York next Wednesday.

The eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, 26, will put his golfing skills to the test for Team Europe, competing against a team of American celebrities.

He took to his Instagram Stories to announce the news on Tuesday, filming himself outside wearing a backwards cap and T-shirt from his own Cloud 23 brand.

He told his followers: ‘What’s up guys, it’s Brooklyn! I am joining the 2025 Ryder celebrity match in New York City, we are going against Team USA. I cannot wait to be there and I hope you guys enjoy. See you there!’

Joining Brooklyn are a slew of actors and basketball players, including Hollywood movie star Catherine Zeta-Jones and Harry Potter’s Tom Felton and Oliver Phelps – who played Draco Malfoy and George Weasley.

Three-time NBA champion Toni Kukoč and two-time NBA winner Pau Gasol will also compete, while Chef José Andrés and ice hockey star Teemu Selänne, complete the team.

On the US side, Brooklyn will be facing off against seven-time Grand Slam singles champion John McEnroe, two-time Super Bowl winner Eli Manning and presenter Michael Strahan.

The line-up also features Stick Season hitmaker Noah Kahan, country singers Miranda Lambert and Kane Brown, Saturday Night Live star Colin Jost and Chef Bobby Flay.

Brooklyn’s tournament debut marks the latest in a long string of ventures from the star, including stints as a footballer, photographer, racing driver and chef.

His frequent attempts at varied career paths have brought him under scrutiny, with critics accusing him of using his family privilege to open doors.

Most recently, he was reported to be planning on opening up a burger restaurant in the US, using the financial backing of his wife Nicola Peltz and her billionaire father, Nelson Peltz.

He is currently in the final stages of launching his very own ‘Brand Beckham’ empire, using the name cloud 23, after launching his £15-a-bottle hot sauce Cloud 23 in October last year, inspired by his ‘journey as a tastemaker’.

Brooklyn plans to add to his £10million fortune with a personal brand empire just like his famous father, 50.

Last month, the nepo baby revealed the branding for Beck’s Buns, which came after a row with beer brand Beck’s.

He tweaked his trademark application to include restaurants and is now said to be pushing full steam ahead with the venture.

A source told The Sun last week: ‘Brooklyn has long dreamed of opening a restaurant where he lives and that is finally coming to fruition.

‘He has created Beck’s Buns and quietly launched it on social media last month. Brooklyn’s company Buster Sauce Inc owns the trademark and he is planning to open a restaurant.

‘The menu is still being decided but it’ll be high quality burgers with his signature Buster hot sauces.’

While only a few months earlier, he embarked on yet another career path as a racing driver, participating in Formula E Evo Sessions in March 2025 after intensive training from Jaguar TCS racing driver Mitch Evans – which was featured in a documentary.

Speaking about the venture, he previously insisted to Daily Mail that he had ‘finally found what I’m passionate about’.

He said: ‘My wife, Nicola, was a little bit worried. And then she saw me in my race outfit, and she was like, “You should do this as a job. You look really good.” So, I might be changing careers!

‘I think I’ve tried a few things and finally found what I absolutely love, I’ve always been a fan of racing and really enjoyed it. It’s what I’m passionate about.

‘And I’ve given it my all. Put my head down and I’m not listening to anyone. And, yeah, I’m just doing my thing really.’

It comes after Brooklyn launched his own Facebook Watch series – Cookin- With Brooklyn – in December 2021 during the pandemic.

He has not claimed to have had any formal training, saying he ‘just loves to cook’ as he shared his passion with his followers.

But his cooking suffered an array of backlash from fans, who had dubbed him ‘out of touch’ for using expensive products and making basic and ‘bland’ meals.

A year later, Brooklyn branched out into the drinks market as he revealed he was launching alcoholic drink brand, Wesake.

He said at the time: ‘Joining Wesake unites many of my different passions, including my fascination with Japan, cuisine, and my love for Sake.’

While one of his earliest ventures was photography, which saw him land a deal with Penguin Books to publish his own collection of photos in a book titled What I See in 2017.

However, the book was widely mocked online, with particular derision towards a photo of an elephant, hidden entirely by shadows, which Brooklyn captioned: ‘Elephants in Kenya. so hard to photograph, but incredible to see.’

While ridiculed page saw a blurry out-of focus shot of table at restaurant, under the caption: ‘Dinner. i like this picture – it’s out of focus but you can tell there’s a lot going on.’

Brooklyn has previously addressed the mockery over his many career paths, telling Bustle in 2022: ‘My dad knew what he was doing at a very young age…It’s OK to be 25, 26 or even 30 and not know what you’re doing yet. You know what I mean?’

It comes after he continued to ignore his family’s milestones last week, as he failed to join in with their outpouring of tributes for his brother Romeo on Monday, as he marked his 23rd birthday.

It’s the latest family celebration Brooklyn has ignored as his feud with his parents rumbles on amid allegations of a widening family rift.

Brooklyn and his family were last pictured together on Boxing Day last year, and he has seemingly not spent any time with them in the UK since then.

He has only jetted back to his home country for work commitments since, including shooting a Moncler advert with his wife Nicola.

The Beckhams are said to no longer be on speaking terms with the married couple, who recently renewed their vows without inviting the Beckham family.

Just three years after tying the knot, Brooklyn and Nicola said ‘I do’ for a second time on August 2 in Westchester County in front of her family, with the Beckham clan notably absent, having not been informed of the event.

Further heartache has come in the form of a leak of Brooklyn’s speech, in which he reportedly opened up on his love for the Peltz family, as well as speaking ‘movingly’ of his wife in front of the 200 guests.

A source told The Mirror: ‘He spoke from the heart – and at the centre of his heart is Nicola whom he loves very dearly, but also the Peltz family who have really stuck by his side. He wanted to recognise them all, and was determined to do them all justice.’

While Brooklyn enjoyed his love-fest overseas, the Beckhams enjoyed a prolonged stint in the south of France before heading to Italy.

Brooklyn is reportedly ‘heartbroken’ over the way his wife Nicola is being ‘painted as a viper’ within their ongoing family feud, following accusations that the billionaire heiress has been ‘isolating’ Brooklyn from not only his family, but also his friends.
