Brooklyn Beckham Ignores Dad David’s Knighthood Amid Ongoing Family Feud, While Romeo Pays Tribute

Brooklyn Beckham Ignores Dad David’s Knighthood Amid Ongoing Family Feud, While Romeo Pays Tribute

Brooklyn Beckham failed to acknowledge his dad David’s knighthood on Friday as their family feud rumbles on.

While Romeo shared a tribute to congratulate the former footballer, aspiring chef Brooklyn uploaded a photo of food to his Instagram Story.

The wannabe chef, 26, along with his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, have been engulfed in the escalating rift with Victoria and David, with his parents believed to be concerned about the influence the billionaire heiress has over their eldest son.

Brooklyn snubbed David’s knighthood and instead shared some pretzels to his Instagram and continued to promote his Cloud 23 hot sauce.

Meanwhile Romeo shared a fun photo with his dad and captioned the update: ‘So proud of you.’

David re-shared a number of tributes from his friends as David Gardner, Nick Woodhouse and Manchester United congratulated him.

David declared himself ‘immensely proud’ as he finally received a knighthood after years of being snubbed.

He said he ‘never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour’, as his Spice Girl wife Victoria also becomes Lady Beckham.

The former England football captain previously missed out when a ‘red flag’ from the taxman blocked him becoming a Sir in 2014.

Leaked emails suggested he had savaged the nominations committee as ‘unappreciative c***s’ and branded their decision ‘a disgrace, to be honest’, although his office subsequently insisted they had been doctored by a hacker.

But that was all behind him today as Sir David proudly led the King’s Birthday Honours list recognising 1,200 people from community champions to cultural icons.

The day before Sir David was given the honour, he was seen chatting with the King at a St James’s Palace ceremony for the monarch’s foundation, of which the retired footballer is an ambassador. He has been made a knight for his services to sport and to charity.

He said: ‘Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.’

David added: ‘To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career and literally a boyhood dream come true.’

He said that, off the pitch, his charity work ‘gives me so much fulfilment’, and added: ‘It will take a little while for the news to sink in but I’m immensely proud and it’s such an emotional moment for me to share with my family.’

He has been made a knight for his services to sport and to charity, having partnered with Unicef and campaigned with Malaria No More, a charity working to eradicate the disease.

Sir David was made an OBE in 2003 and has been in the running for a knighthood for more than a decade.

Meanwhile, Brooklyn has reportedly ‘told his famous family that he wants no contact’ with them in the latest devastating turn of their ongoing feud.

While a source close to him denied the claims, a source told Page Six: ‘Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he’s not responding to those that try to connect.’

According to the publication, the eldest Beckham boy has had no communication with his family following father David’s knighthood being announced last week and only learned of the news in the media alongside the rest of the world.

Denying he’d asked for no contact, a source close to Brooklyn told the publication:  ‘Everyone’s focus should be David Beckham’s great honour’.

MailOnline have contacted David’s reps for comment.

Last month, MailOnline revealed that tensions in the family have grown so bitter that the Cruz was going out of his way to avoid his estranged brother.

He has taken to contacting the family’s favourite hangouts ahead of any visits to confirm that he won’t cross paths with his sibling.

Cruz is said to have sent messages to the owners of their haunts specifically asking questions such as, ‘Is Brooklyn there?’, to make sure the coast was clear.

And he even follows that up with a request to ‘let him know’ if his brother later turned up, sources say.
