Brooke Shields has opened up about her relationship with ex-husband Andre Agassi.
In a new interview with AARP magazine, the 58-year-old actress — who is now married to Chris Henchy — looked back on her past romance with the tennis phenom, now 53 – who she was married to from 1997-1999.
‘With Andre, it also felt good to feel smaller than another, because he was so famous and number one in the world,’ she recalled.
Brooke added, ‘Everywhere we went, he had tons of bodyguards.
‘I could sit back because it wasn’t my world. He was the first one out of the car when we arrived at events.’

Brooke also spoke about how her ex supported her through separating from her late mom, who had been her manager.
‘It was a transition that I needed. I wasn’t strong enough to separate from my mother Teri on my own,’ she admitted to the publication. ‘I kept falling back in.’
In a prior interview with People she revealed that her therapist still tells her, ‘I will always be thankful to Andre because he helped you separate from your mother lovingly.’
At the time, she also stated about her long-time relationship with the athlete: ‘We understood each other’s trajectory with regards to being famous — or infamous — at such a young age.’
Shields moved on with screenwriter and producer Henchy, tying the knot with him in 2001.
The two share daughters Rowan Francis, 20, and Grier Hammond, 17.
Discussing her current spouse, she gushed to AARP: ‘He makes me laugh. I think I always knew that I needed solid and normal.
‘And he’s a very, very good dad. He goes to every basketball game, every volleyball game. And the kids love being around him too.’

The actress shared her ‘love’ for Henchy on Instagram last month for Valentine’s Day
Sharing about her girls, the proud mom described the young ladies as old souls.
‘They’re very old-souled children,’ she noted. ‘Personality-wise, Rowan’s like a golden retriever puppy and Grier is like an Abyssinian cat.’
This past Valentine’s Day Brooke shared throwback snaps with her husband in an Instagram carousel.
She wrote, ‘Happy Valentine’s Day, my love! xx.’
