Brooke Burke Shares 3 Backyard Tips for Staying Slim in Summer at 53

Dancing With The Stars veteran Brooke Burke does not have to go far to maintain her awesome figure.

On some days all the 53-year-old performer – who is hosting an Arizona wellness retreat in September – has to do is walk to the backyard of her Malibu mansion to rev up her health routine.

The Brooke Burke Body founder has at least three different things she does when in the sprawling Southern California oasis that includes a flower garden, swimming pool and wood fort.

Her top three things to do to feel better are to do a cold plunge, practice yoga and use a PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic frequency) pad.

The mother-of-four has told the Daily Mail that these hacks can help shed 10lbs in a month.

One of her favorite things to do in the summer months is to actually lay down on a mat. But it’s not just any old Walmart bought mat.

‘I use a PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic frequency) pad that I lay on for eight minutes, twice a day,’ the pinup told DailyMail.com. ‘It improves oxygen flow, circulation, and recovery. It’s one of the things I do to take care of myself.’

Such a mat can cost anywhere from $330 to $700.

And she also does cold plunges for extra fat burning. ‘It helps with inflammation and fat burning,’ Brooke noted. ‘It’s very hard to do because it is so incredibly cold. I try to stay in for at least three minutes. And I do it five times a week.’

As far as yoga, her favorite moves work on her core. They include the cobra pose and the warrior pose. ‘Core focused Yoga really works for me because the tummy needs extra work after menopause,’ she said.

She has tons of other hacks.

A more recent biohack is using Castor Oil on her stomach.

According to Healthline, the treatment is called ‘navel pulling’ and is based on Ayurvedic methods that involve applying oils to the belly button and the surrounding area. Proponents of navel pulling claim that it has a variety of health benefits.

Another thing Brooke does is take NAD+.

BROOKE’S NEXT RETREAT

The Body Blueprint CIVANA Retreat with Brooke Burke in Carefree, Arizona is from September 4 – 7, 2025.

It is three nights and represents ‘a return to what matters.’

The trip is inclusive of comfortable accommodations, all meals, daily wellness experiences, a spa service of your choosing, in-depth workshops.

‘I am honored and so grateful to be able to guide another journey. Civana truly has become a home away from home from me. Meet me in the desert….it just might be the most important vacation of your life,’ said Burke.

‘I’ve been taking Tru Niagen for six years. It’s a coenzyme that helps your body naturally produce the molecule nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+),’ she shared.

NAD+ molecule plays an important role in cellular metabolism.

And her top biohack is going for a walk in her neighborhood while holding in her tummy and strapping on weights.

‘Movement is what matters most. And giving yourself the opportunity to get outside, move your body, and escape from your to do list, is meaningful,’ she said.

‘These days I have added ankle and hand weights when I walk which helps burn more calories. I really work on my abs while I am walking by sucking in my stomach. I don’t even think about it anymore, I just do it.’

Burke started biohacking two years ago.

‘I am obsessed with biohacking and doing a deep dive into innovative longevity opportunities, and it feels amazing,’ said the star.

Biohacking is also known as ‘human augmentation’ and is a ‘do-it-yourself biology’ that works to enhance health and wellbeing through certain techniques such as meditation and intermittent fasting, according to Healthline.

And Brooke also talked her diet.

‘Eating more protein, extending my fasting window and an anti-inflammatory diet is good,’ added the fitness expert who has been on the covers of Maxim and Playboy.

She is known for hosting the E! Network travel show Wild On! (1999–2002), CBS’s Rock Star (2005–2006), and TV Lands’ She’s Got the Look (2010).
