Brody Jenner and Tia Blanco's daughter's first birthday party with surprise appearance from Caitlyn Jenner

Brody Jenner was over the moon on Monday when he and his fiancée Tia Blanco shared some adorable photos and videos from their daughter Honey Raye’s first birthday party.

‘Can’t believe my little angel is 1 today! You are so loved ❤️,’ the 40-year-old reality star gushed in the caption to a photo of himself and his future wife planting kisses on their daughter’s cheeks.

But the birthday party featured a shocking reunion as his parent Caitlyn Jenner, 74, made an unexpected appearance to celebrate her granddaughter’s birthday, despite seemingly being estranged from Brody.

Just days after Honey Raye was born, Brody had shared a behind-the-scenes video documenting Tia’s pregnancy in which he said he planned to be the ‘exact opposite’ kind of parent compared to how Caitlyn had raised him.

Also making an appearance at the shindig were Brody’s mother Linda Thompson and Tia’s parents Sina and Simon.

In her own post, Tia wrote: ‘Happy Birthday to my favorite girl in the world! They say when you have a baby it’s like watching your heart beat outside of your body… and that’s exactly how it feels!

‘Best year of my life being your mama, Honey Raye! Thank you for all the love, joy & happiness you have brought to me!’ she continued. ‘The sweetest heart, purest soul, spunkiest personality & happiest little spirit! Mama loves you! Happy 1st birthday!’

Honey wore a cute pink dress with a skirt decorated with butterfly-shaped pieces of fabric.

The little girl was presented with a white-frosted cake decorated with a large ‘1’ to mark the occasion, and she celebrated by hilariously smashing it all over her face — and Tia’s face too.

Brody was decked out in a celebratory red Hawaiian-style shirt with a baby illustrated on it, though it wasn’t clear if it was supposed to be his own child, and he wore a black trucker hat with white fangs on the front.

Tia looked lovely in a white linen long-sleeve crop top with yellow floral embroidery over the hems.

She dressed it down with a simple set of white sweatpants and gray moccasins.

The lovebirds celebrated Honey Raye’s birthday in what looked like a backyard gravel path surrounded by trees and shrubs, along with lovely fake flower decorations on metal stalks and playful stuffed toadstools.

It was clear that she was considered part of the family when she posted again in a large family photo with Brody and Linda, though she didn’t get a prime spot directly next to him.

The former California gubernatorial candidate’s presence at the birthday was unexpected after Brody’s statements about her parenting shortly after Honey was born.

In a YouTube video documenting Tia’s pregnancy journey, he looked forward to being a parent and backward at how he was raised by Caitlyn.

‘You know, growing up, I didn’t have the greatest relationship with [Caitlyn],’ he explained.

He said that the former Keeping Up With The Kardashians star ‘wasn’t really around me growing up.’

Instead of following that example, he was looking forward to ‘doing the exact opposite and being the absolute best father I can possibly be.’

Previously, in 2019, Brody has expressed total disinterest in watching Caitlyn when she appeared on the ITV reality series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

When he was asked if he would be rooting for the former athlete, he replied, ‘I don’t even know what that is,’ though he added that he hoped she would be ‘OK’ during her time in the jungle.

Earlier that year, during his stint on The Hills: New Beginnings, Brody claimed that he and Caitlyn never had a ‘great relationship’ when he was growing up.

While speaking to his mother Linda in one episode, he admitted that ‘it really hurts’ that Caitlyn had canceled her plans to come to what he described as his wedding to Kaitlynn Carter just a week before the ceremony.

However, he and Kaitlynn — whom he split from later in 2019 — subsequently explained that they were never legally married and instead only had a commitment ceremony.

Although he and Caitlyn have kept their personal drama largely out of the spotlight since the birth of his daughter, her presence with the rest of his family at the birthday party suggests there may be a thaw between the two.
