Last year, Cartwright explained her marital woes and lack of intimacy with Taylor began to affect her self esteem.
'I felt like I wasn't good enough. If you start to feel like your partner doesn't want you and they're also being mean to you, it's like, "What am I doing here?" I'm basically living with a roommate. I hit my breaking point,' she explained to Us Weekly.
'I don't want to be unhappy for the rest of my life. I don't want to be in a sexless marriage for the rest of my life. I don't want to be arguing with my husband for the rest of my life.'
Since splitting from Taylor, Cartwright has been regaining the happiness that was depleted during the tough times.
On the day she filed for divorce, she shared a glammed-up selfie of herself looking and feeling her best.
She tellingly captioned the post: 'Getting my sparkle back.'
