An Australian couple’s viral TikTok dance showcasing their glorious Down Under summer has sparked a torrent of envy and rage from Brits.
The series of clips, shared by Queensland influencer Isabelle Petzl-Duncan, show her and her boyfriend Mitchell O’Leary as they dance and lip-sync to the song ‘Wake Up’ by the British band The Vamps.
The couple are seen in various sunny locales, enjoying the clear skies and warmth of the Gold Coast.
Lyrics playing over their dance include the words, ‘Wake up in the morning with the sunlight in my eyes. No my head don’t feel so bright.’
However many U.K.-based commenters have ridiculed the pair in the comments and via their own versions of the dance.

‘So irritating this song,’ wrote one.
Others accused the duo of being one trick ponies with so many variations on the same video.
‘6 videos with this sound in the last 4 days,’ said one critic.
‘WHAT THIS IS LIKE THE MILLIONTH ONE I CANT,’ added another frustrated viewer.
Currently enduring snow flurries and icy roads, many UK TikTokkers have recreated the duo’s performances with their own seasonal take on the dance.
‘Instead we’re in Britain in winter, it’s cold and I have mocks on,’ a tribute video was titled.
While one Aussie expat expressed her own longing for home in the comments: ‘I was forced to move to the UK from Australia, I’m an Aussie girl at heart but I’m a hostage.’
Since their original video, the pair have continued to ‘rub it in’ with their British followers, posting follow up clips with the same song but in different idyllic settings

However, some Australians on TikTok were quick to argue the point about the splendid weather.
‘Don’t worry none of us have tan lines ATM we have all been stuck inside for weeks thanks to storms,’ a commenter remarked.
The TikTok trend has swiftly caught on, with other famous couples, such as Love Island’s Zac and Lucinda, creating their own versions of the dance videos.
Petzl-Duncan has since shared the videos to Instagram, spreading the trend to another platform.
But the trend continues to garner attention on TikTok, racking up millions of views so far across the many similar videos.
