Britney Spears revealed she had a close encounter of the third kind.
The pop icon said it happened while trying to escape the fallout from her failed relationship with Justin Timberlake in 2002.
In her new memoir The Woman in Me, the 41-year-old wrote that she skipped town and took a drive in Arizona to clear her mind following her abortion and breakup with the N-Sync member when the paranormal experience occurred.
While driving through the desert in a convertible with a friend, the Toxic crooner was hit with the mystic moment, writing ‘an eerie feeling settled over me’.
She later described it as ‘a profound beauty, otherworldly and humbling’.

Britney went on to say that she ‘stayed quiet and sat there with the feeling for a long moment,’ although she was tempted to turn to her unnamed friend and ask, ‘Do you believe in aliens?’
The friend didn’t need prodding, however, as she asked Britney, ‘Do you feel that? What is that?’
While the experience still remains a mystery to Britney, she did write that ‘we felt it at that moment because we needed it.
‘We were so spiritually open and so raw. It showed us there was more than just what we could see.’

The Circus singer celebrated the news of her record-shattering book by taking to her Instagram with an emotional post.

She uploaded a photo of the book cover and included a short reel that had the words, ‘My story. On my terms. At last,’ appear on the screen.
The audiobook version was also released, which notably was narrated by Oscar-nominated actress, Michelle Williams.
The 43-year-old was praised online for her impression of Britney’s mocking impression of her ex Justin Timberlake trying ‘too hard’ to fit in with Black musicians.
