Britney Spears has recorded an audio version of her upcoming memoir, The Woman In Me.
The pop star, 41, made an audio recording of herself personally narrating a portion of her book and had a mystery star take over the rest as she couldn’t finish it on her own.
Sources connected to her publisher told TMZ that she did not want to narrate any chapters about her family as she found them too painful to retell in her own words.
The Gimme More hitmaker — who was ‘pulled over and ticketed’ for driving without a license last month — presumably covered a lot about her family who had her in a conservatorship for well over a decade.
For that reason, an unknown celebrity, who has not yet been revealed, was tapped to record the rest.

An insider revealed that Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, was trying to get Reese Witherspoon to voice the audio recording.
However, the Legally Blonde actress was unable to do so.
According to the description on the publisher’s website, The Woman In Me is ‘a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.’
The Woman In Me and the audio recording told in Spears’ own voice will be available on October 24.
Earlier this month, she also teased that she has a follow-up memoir in the works just weeks before her first book is set to drop.
The tell-all memoir comes after the Grammy winner successfully fought a court-ordered conservatorship, which had been in place for over 13 years.
The long-time arrangement, in which she was involuntarily placed under the conservatorship of her father, was finally terminated in November 2021.
Earlier this year, it was announced that she had signed a $15 million book deal, promising to reveal that story.

According to a press release by Gallery Books at the time, Spears is set to unveil ‘for the first time her incredible journey [and] strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.’
With The Woman in Me, the pop sensation will ‘illuminate the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.’
Since the announcement about her memoir, Spears has made headlines as she called it quits with her now-estranged husband, Sam Asghari, and posted viral clips of herself dancing with knives.
Among other stressors in her life, her father, Jamie Spears, has also been hospitalized and is reportedly ‘severely ill’.
