Oh no! The pop star, 41, is set to release The Woman in Me on October 24, but rumours are flying that the book has already gone on sale in Mexico City by accident
Someone else wrote: ‘Rumour has it Britney’s book is on sale already in Mexico!? My sister is in Mexico on vaycay!! I texted her to try and find it’.
A third echoed: ‘And unintentionally in Mexico maybe by mistake they are selling Britney’s bio at a book fair. The guy has already uploaded the 50 pages of what it is about.’
While a fan site reported: ‘The book #TheWomanInMe is OFFICIALLY on sale in Mexico. Several people have uploaded videos and photos to social networks buying the book.’
And a fifth even shared an alleged video of the book, showing the cover and then flicking through the pages and giving a peek at the inside cover.
Lending authenticity to the video is the fact that the publishing page says the book was published by Penguin Random House by arrangement with the original publisher, Gallery Books.
The translation is also credited to Marta de Bru de Sala i Martí, Verónica Canales Medina and Noemi Risco Mateo, who are listed as the translators for the Spanish version.
As more and more people took to social media to share spoilers from the book, they faced increasing backlash from Britney’s fans.
One Britney fan account tweeted: ‘A bookstore in Mexico is under fire for having #thewomaninme copies on their shelves a week before it’s release.’

Another fan page wrote: ‘The book #TheWomaninMe has already gone on sale in Mexico without prior notice.
‘From this account we will NOT be sharing anything about the book. Let’s respect Britney’s work.’
Several people on Reddit then reported that the fans leaking the memoir had begun deleting spoilers in the face of the criticism.
It was also alleged that the book store that had made the error had taken the books off the shelves.
One person alleged: ‘They tell me that they have already withdrawn the book, that they got in trouble because of that tiktok and that they will sell it at the end of the month.’
Britney’s highly anticipated memoir comes nearly two years after she was released from a 13-year court-ordered conservatorship set up and controlled by her father, Jamie Spears.
The arrangement had governed the singer’s personal life, career and $60 million estate from 2008 until it was terminated in November 2021.
The memoir’s title apparently was taken from a line in the book in which Britney wrote: ‘The woman in me was pushed down for a long time. They wanted me to be wild onstage, the way they told me to be, and to be a robot the rest of the time.’

Ahead of the book’s release, there have already been several bombshell extracts and revelations.
According to excerpts published on Tuesday, Britney said she had an abortion at age 19, after unexpectedly falling pregnant by fellow pop star Justin Timberlake, during their relationship in the later 1990s and early 2000s.
The star claimed that while she wanted the baby and ‘dreamed of having a family’ with Justin, who was also 19 at the time, he ‘wasn’t ready’ for the responsibilities of parenthood and thought the pair were too young.
She writes in an excerpt obtained by People: ‘It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated.
‘He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young. I’m sure people will hate me for this, but I agreed not to have the baby.
‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.
The Toxic hitmaker said the abortion was ‘one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life’ in the memoir.
Justin and Britney, who met as young cast members on television’s The Mickey Mouse Club, dated for about three years in their late teens and early 20s, becoming tabloid sensations, before splitting abruptly in 2002.

Britney was questioned relentlessly in the media about her virginity, while Justin said he had slept with her and then wrote a song Cry Me a River, in which he implied she had been unfaithful to him in their relationship.
In 2021, following a TV documentary about Britney that included a segment on how she was shamed in the media when their relationship ended, Justin publicly apologized to Britney on social media, saying he had ‘failed’ her.
Britney went on to become a mother to two sons, now ages 18 and 17, with her second husband, Kevin Federline, a singer and onetime backup dancer to whom she was married for two years.
In April 2022, Britney said she was expecting a third child with then-fiancé Sam Asghari but the following month she said she suffered a miscarriage.
She and Sam wed in June 2022, but he filed for divorce 14 months later, in August of this year.
