Brit Indie band Kawala have announced their split after ten years together as a band.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, they shared the sad news with their fans as they admitted they had made the hard decision to call it quits.
Despite their upcoming tour, which has now been turned into a Farewell tour, they confessed they are ‘burnt out’ and need a break to focus on their futures.
Originating from North London, the group was formed back in 2015 by lead vocalist Jim Higson and guitarist and vocalist Daniel McCarthy.
After studying music in Leeds, the pair returned to the capital where they expanded Kawala to a five piece alongside lead guitarist Dan Lee, bassist Reeve Coulson and drummer Ben Batten.
Sharing a statement they wrote: ‘After a near decade of Kawala, we have decided to make the truly heart-breaking decision that after our February tour, we will be hanging up our boots.

‘There’s a world of reasons why we’ve landed here and believe us when we say we haven’t taken this decision lightly.
‘Whilst there’s plenty of time to touch on all of those reasons, truthfully we just feel tired, a little burnt out and desperately in need of a break to work out what the future holds.’
They added: ‘We leave behind us truly the best years of our lives.’
During their ten year career, the band amassed hundreds of millions of streams and sold out tours across the UK, Ireland and Europe.
Originally from North London the group also achieved their dream of selling out Kentish Town Forum and filled Outernet London back in May.
Their debut album Better With You debuted at 29th in the UK charts, sandwiched between Adele and Dolly Parton, and their single Ticket To Ride made it onto the FIFA 21 soundtrack.
Thanking their fans they added: ‘But most importantly, the absolute best community of fans anyone could ever ask for.’
The band will be releasing The Kawala Collection on January 31 which features nine tracks before they embark on their farewell tour across the UK and one final date in Amsterdam.
