Bringing Up Bates’ Travis Clark praised wife Katie months before shock cheating reveal

Travis Clark posted a sweet birthday message to his wife Katie Bates months before he went public about his unfaithfulness to her.

On October 5, 2025, Travis, a 24-year-old musician, posted a clip a series of clips of the pair vacationing to Instagram as Katie last fall celebrated a milestone birthday.

‘Happy 25th to the easiest person in the world to celebrate,’ Travis said. 

Travis wrote to his spouse, ‘You love so deeply, give so much of yourself to everything you do, and somehow make every season we’re in feel special.’

Travis, who shares daughter Hailey, two, and son Harvey, one, with Katie, admitted that he had been unfaithful to his spouse via an Instagram Stories post on Saturday.

‘This is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology,’ said Travis. ‘I was unfaithful to my wife. I had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust.’

Travis said he took full responsibility for his behavior in the emotional post. 

‘There is no excuse for what I did,’ he said. ‘This was my failure and my responsibility alone.’

Travis made clear he was doing his best to make amends amid turbulent times in his marriage.

‘I know that words don’t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I’ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry,’ Travis said.

The apologetic husband specifically said he was sorry to Katie for ‘the pain, humiliation and betrayal’ she had to experience as a result of his indiscretions.

Travis said he knew there was nothing he could say to make up for the feelings he hurt by stepping out on his marriage.

‘I understand that an apology doesn’t repair what I broke, and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for,’ Travis said.

Travis added, ‘I am taking responsibility by getting help and doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of outcome.’

Travis wrapped up in saying: ‘I ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.’

It came a day after Katie made the revelation that the pair had been dealing with a tragic pregnancy loss, as they had been expecting their third child. 

Katie was seen in the clip telling a loved one, ‘I just lost my baby’ and wrote in the caption of the post, ‘I will spend the rest of my life missing you.’

The Bates family Instagram account said in a comment on the adjacent thread:  ‘There’s no way to describe the pain of a loss like this. Our hearts are all broken, but we know we will meet this precious little one some day in glory!’ 

Travis and Katie initially crossed paths in 2019, and commenced dating one another in 2020. They announced their engagement in April of 2021, and exchange vows later that year in December.

They welcomed daughter Hailey in February of 2023 and son Harvey in September of 2024.
