Brian Austin Green says he underwent a vasectomy after having his fifth unplanned child.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 actor, 50, made the reveal on Tuesday’s edition of his iHeart Radio podcast Old-ish, with his co-hosts, fiancée Sharna Burgess, 38, and Randy Spelling, 45.
Green and Burgess welcomed their one-year-old son Zane in June of 2022, marking the actor’s fifth child: He is also father to sons Kassius Lijah, 21, with Vanessa Marcil, 55; and Noah, 11, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, seven, with ex-wife Megan Fox, 37.
‘Zane was born and I was like, “I think it’s time to close the shop,”‘ said Green, who went Instagram official with the professional dancer in January of 2021, and got engaged to this past July.
The topic came up after Green – who was previously wed to Fox for more than nine years until their 2020 split – and his co-hosts were asked in a fan mail message if they were open to having more children.

‘I have five kids, Sue: Who do you think you are asking a question like this?’ Green said, adding that none of his children were the result of planned pregnancies.
Said the actor: ‘Funny story – I haven’t really planned for any of my kids – every time it’s been, “Oh, it’s OK. We can do this.”‘
‘I love my kids and I wasn’t against any of them, but I’ve never experienced that thing of looking at a pregnancy test and hoping that it’s positive and preparing that way.’
Burgess, who said she was on birth control at the time she and Green conceived Zane, and left the door open to the possibility of having more kids via alternate methods.
‘If we do it again, I do want the experience of us planning it together, doing the pregnancy test and really being on this journey with each other,’ Burgess said. ‘So, we would probably end up having to do IVF.’
Burgess said she was grateful to Green for having the vasectomy, as she said being on birth control took a toll on her health.
‘It was a beautiful thing that Brian did because birth control always made me feel crazy,’ the Australia-born entertainer said. ‘So, I was really, really grateful for that. It was such a big and beautiful thing he did, and it secures comfort and no stress in our sex life; not worry about it, if we are or we aren’t, which is such a gift.
‘And we can move forward and plan if that should be in the stars for us.’

She mused on the challenges of putting together a festive group shot in which all subjects were posed in harmony.
‘ONE damn usable photo!’ the Dancing with the Stars alum captioned the shot. ‘I have about 300 photos of just today on my phone and these are the ONLY (barely) usable ones where we are somewhat looking in the same general direction.
‘And almost no one is blinking. Or pulling a face. And at the same time, I wouldn’t change a single thing about us. As long as I get ONE damn photo. And if you can’t beat ’em … join ’em.’
Green on Tuesday praised his 90210 costar Ian Ziering for his fitness in fending off multiple attackers following a traffic altercation on Hollywood Boulevard Sunday.
‘My boy Ian Ziering got into a fistfight on Hollywood Boulevard with like five dudes, and f***ing like beat them, did it, did his thing,’ Green said. ‘He’s a monster.
‘He’s f***ing incredibly fit, obviously. I would not suggest, to anyone, to fight people, especially not now in this climate. But, you know what? All turned out well. Z, I love you, brother, you’re a beast, good on you.’
