Bradley Cooper was happy to be able to help his good friend Brooke Shields in her time of need.
The 48-year-old Oscar winner — who is busy promoting his film Maestro alongside Carey Mulligan – reacted to the actress calling him her ‘guardian angel’ after he came to her aid during a terrifying seizure in September.
‘I was happy to be in the right place at the right time,’ he told Extra at the 2023 Gotham Awards on Monday night.
Earlier this month, Brooke revealed she was hospitalized after a seizure outside a restaurant saw her ‘frothing at the mouth and go totally blue’.
Speaking for the first time about the frightening health scare to Glamour, Brooke said Bradley rushed to her aid and held her hand in the ambulance as she was taken into intensive care.

The actress was days away from her Café Carlyle show debut when she collapsed ‘headfirst into the wall’ and started having a grand mal seizure outside the restaurant L’Artusi in New York.
The Blue Lagoon alum explained that the grand mal seizure happened because she was drinking too much water for her show and was low in sodium.
‘I was waiting for an Uber. I get down to the bottom of the steps, and I start evidently looking weird, and [the people I was with] were like, “Are you okay?”, she told Glamour.
‘I walk into the restaurant L’Artusi, and I go to the sommelier who had just taken an hour to watch my run-through. I go in, two women come up to me; I don’t know them. Everything starts to go black.
‘Then my hands drop to my side and I go headfirst into the wall. I start having a grand mal seizure.
‘It means frothing at the mouth, totally blue, trying to swallow my tongue. The next thing I remember, I’m being loaded into an ambulance. I have oxygen on. And Bradley f*****g Cooper is sitting next to me holding my hand.’
Brooke said Bradley, 48, was called after the waiter at the restaurant was unable to get through to her husband Chris Henchy. An assistant knew Bradley was nearby and the Hollywood actor headed straight to L’Artusi.
‘His assistant called Bradley and said, “Brooke’s on the ground. Chris isn’t around. Go get her.” And he came, and somebody called the ambulance. And then it was like, I walked in with Jesus,’ she said.

Brooke described the ambulance journey as ‘surreal and odd’ with the actor telling her: ‘I’m going to hospital with you, Brooke’.
The actress and Bradley have been friends for over a decade and became close after they starred together in the horror film The Midnight Meat Train in 2008.
Once in intensive care, Brooke said she felt ‘stuck’ after doctors put in a catheter and IV drip.
Brooke said doctors told her she had too much water and questioned if she had eradicated salt from her diet – something which she vehemently denied as she wasn’t on some ‘crazy actress’ diet.
Brooke said doctors’ advice was to have more salt in her diet.
The actress went on to make a recovery and presented her one-woman show debut on September 12.
