Brad Pitt, 61, Debuts Buzz Cut and Moustache While Filming Hollywood Sequel

Brad Pitt showed off a new look as he sported a trimmed moustache while The Adventures of Cliff Booth in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The actor, 61, plays the title role in the film, a sequel to Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

The scene was shot at the New Beverly Cinema, a theater in Los Angeles owned by the film’s writer Quentin Tarantino. 

Brad was dressed casually for the evening in a blue open shirt with matching loose fitting trousers and a white vest.

Also sporting white trainers, he was seen flashing a light at something off camera during the wscene. 

Quentin is returning to write the sequel, but he’s handing directing duties over to Zodiac and Seven filmmaker David Fincher.  

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, released in 2019, starred Brad as Cliff, a stuntman for the Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio).

Leonardo is not listed as a cast member on the show’s IMDb page, which describes the plot as showcasing ‘more of Cliff Booth’s backstory in his new role as a Hollywood fixer.’

Quentin previously fleshed out the character beyond how he’s portrayed in the film with a novelization of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that he wrote. 

While the upcoming film will focus on Cliff, Brad clarified last month that the project was ‘not really a sequel but an episode’ featuring the character. 

‘This is something Quentin Tarantino wrote. It’s an episode, not really a sequel, but an episode of the character from Once Upon A Time,’ he told Deadline.

‘But he didn’t want to direct it at this point, and my friend David Fincher, our friend, I say our mutual friend, David Fincher stepped in to direct it,’ Pitt explained. ‘So we’re doing that for Netflix and we’re gonna start in July, it should be really fun. It should be good fun.’

In addition to Pitt, the cast consists of Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan and JB Tadena.

‘But he didn’t want to direct it at this point, and my friend David Fincher, our friend, I say our mutual friend, David Fincher stepped in to direct it,’ Pitt explained. ‘So we’re doing that for Netflix and we’re gonna start in July, it should be really fun. It should be good fun.’

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood earned numerous awards and nominations, including multiple Oscar nods. 

Pitt won the Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of Cliff.

The 1980s

Brad sported long, shaggy hair when he got his first introduction to the spotlight back in 1987.

That year, the budding actor got his first on camera role in soap opera Another World and followed it up with appearances on Growing Pains and Dallas.

The actor’s movie star good looks were apparent early on and he soon earned bit parts in films like Less Than Zero and No Man’s Land. 

The 1990s

By the early 90s, Brad was sporting his trademark blond hair and appeared in one of his most memorable early roles in Thelma & Louise (1991) opposite Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon.

Brad starred as handsome young drifter J.D. who ends up sleeping with Thelma and later steals Louise’s life savings.

By the time his star-studded film True Romance rolled around, Brad showed off his rugged good looks with long locks and stubble.

Two years later, he proved he could rock a more cropped look when he took on the lead role of a homicide detective in crime thriller Seven opposite Morgan Freeman and his ex-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The early 2000s

The early 2000s were a good time for Brad. He kicked the decade off with lead roles in The Mexican (2001) opposite Julia Roberts and Ocean’s Eleven (2001) with George Clooney.

The mid 2000s

A few years later, Brad sported one of his most memorable looks as he opted for a buzzcut while starring in Mr. & Mrs. Smith opposite Angelina Jolie, who he went on to marry.

Brad opted for a more questionable look the following year as he grew a longer crew cut ansd dyed it platinum blond for the action flick’s premiere.

It was a brief look for the actor however as he soon returned to a more natural appearance.

The 2010s 

By the time the 2010s rolled around, Brad had expanded his career from acting into producing, working behind the scenes on a number of his films.

The star also changed up his appearance during this period as he grew long, dark brown locks which he showed off at the premiere of his film Killing Him Softly (2012). 

He changed the look slightly in later years, going for a more sleek hairstyle with salt and pepper stubble while starring in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

This period was also a career highlight for Brad as he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Quentin Tarantino flick.   

The 2020s 

Now in his early 60s, Brad is looking better than ever.

The actor turned heads with his youthful appearance at the Wimbledon tennis tournament in 2023 where he sat alongside Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Far from just admiring his looks, fans were also left tickled as the megastar, who famously played a man who ages in reverse in 2008’s The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, tucked into a pack of crisps while ‘still looking stunning’.
