Boy George made his debut performance in Moulin Rouge on Broadway on Tuesday as the singer joined the ensemble.
The Karma Chameleon hitmaker looked positively radiant as he took to the stage to take over the role of the impresario Harold Zidler in the Tony-Award winning musical.
The singer, who is known for his eye catching make up and fashion ensembles, looked right at home on the stage as he donned the elaborate red jacket, black top hat and purple eyeshadow for the iconic role.
Boy George is only starring in the production for a limited time, performing in a total of 112 shows from February 6 to May 12.
Speaking about his role in the show ahead of his debut on Monday he told Jimmy Fallon that he was excited to begin the role.

Joking about how hard he has been working, he explained: ‘I’ve had three weeks of intense, every day I have been working, Saturdays and Sundays. I’m like “Saturday and Sunday?!”
‘But having said that once I learnt everything I was like “Oh I’m so grateful I rehearsed.” I so grateful I kept rolling my eyes and carried on.
‘I feel very relaxed and excited about going on rather than nervous.’
The musical is a stage adaptation of director Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 2001 film of the same name starring Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, which was also a jukebox musical.
The role of Harold Zilder has previously been played by Broadway legend Danny Burstein and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt breakout Tituss Burgess.
Meanwhile singer JoJo recently played the lead of Satine last year as she referred to the opportunity as a ‘dream come true’.
Boy George previously performed on Broadway in 2004 for his stage musical Taboo as he played the lead protagonist Leigh Bowery.
The production tells a love story played out against the fantastic background of the nightclub that came to symbolise the excess and decadence of the 1980s London, and subsequently defined a generation.

After opening night in London’s West End in 2002, the production went stateside to Broadway before touring the UK and being revived in Brixton in 2010.

Elsewhere Boy George also admitted to Jimmy Fallon earlier this week that he used to stalk his late idol David Bowie.
The star shared that he had Bowie’s name tattooed on his arm and confessed that he used to sit outside the Starman hitmaker’s house.
‘When I got famous, I saw him once in Australia in the first class lounge and I was just freshly famous. And I was like ”’Am I allowed to go talk to Bowie? And on what level do I talk to him.” Because I used to sit outside his house when I was 10.’
Boy George, who wore a bright blue bowler hat with a black suit, said he would sit outside Bowie’s house with many fans.
‘If he came out, simply to see what shoes he might be wearing,’ said Boy George, who wrote a tribute to Bowie after his death in 2016 at age 69.
‘Did you ever see him?’ Jimmy asked.
‘No, but there was this one time when Angie Bowie opened a window and told us all to f-off,’ Boy George said. ‘We were kind of thrilled even though she wasn’t being friendly.’
