Australia boxing star Harry Garside has confessed to hitting on radio host Woody Whitelaw’s fiancée.
The 26-year-old Olympic bronze medalist fighter made the admission when he appeared on Whitelaw’s KIIS FM show Will and Woody on Thursday.
Harry attended Glamour on the Grid earlier this week, and spotted Woody’s future wife Mimi Gibbs, however he didn’t recognise her at first.
Mimi called out Harry’s name at the event and the boxer claimed he ‘definitely did not recognise her… I looked and she’s smiling at me.’
‘I thought…I’ve come to this event thinking I’m going to find my future wife and here we go, it’s happening to me right now,’ he said.

Woody then told how amusing he found the boxer’s attempted wooing before Harry noticed the radio host at the event.
‘So I watch the two of them have this moment on the dance-floor and I could see the look on Harry’s face and I was like “oh my God, he thinks he is in” and then finally, you looked over Mim’s shoulder and you saw me and very suddenly the penny dropped.’
Harry elaborated on the incident, claiming that though it was very flattering that ‘this attractive woman…was looking at me.’
‘She was,’ replied Woody. ‘But unfortunately, she was just wanting to catch up with an old friend, not be your future wife.’
Last month Garside opened up about the toll that domestic violence allegations levelled against him took during 2023.
Garside was arrested by NSW Police in dramatic scenes at Sydney Airport as he returned home with his father after shooting the reality TV show I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in South Africa earlier last year.

Police dropped the charges against the boxer in a Sydney court after his legal team produced video evidence they said showed his ex-girlfriend was the alleged aggressor during an incident on March 1.
Garside had steadfastly maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings that had been brought against him.
Garside’s ex-girlfriend, was later arrested at her Bellevue Hill home in July and charged with assaulting and intimidating her former partner.
‘I feel like I turned into a man last year. It was a real coming-of-age moment for me,’ he told the Neil Mitchell Asks Why podcast.
‘Being in the public eye … not wanting to leave the house, it was so, so heavy,’ he said.
