Harrison Reid has called time on his lifeguard job after 12 years.
The beloved Bondi Rescue star took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the news with his longtime fans, adding that working with his friends every day at the iconic Sydney beach was a dream.
‘Not many people get to say they landed their dream job at 18 and lived it for 12 years,’ the 31-year-old began the post.
‘Turning up to work each day with your best mates, never knowing what the day would throw at you, who would knock on the tower door, when the emergency phone would ring, or who would end up in a rip and need help.’
He added that it was a ‘privilege and an honour to wear the blue shirt while also saving countless lives’.
The TV star then thanked everyone who worked alongside him and supported him in the role.

‘A special thank you to the paramedics, police, volunteers, and the Bondi locals I’ve come to know and work alongside over the years.
‘And to my parents, thank you for letting me chase my dream from day one.
‘Finally, to all the lifeguards I worked with past and present… thank you. It was the best chapter of my life. The busy days, the trips away, and the after-work debriefs at The Bucket List and the hangovers.’
He finished off the post, writing: ‘I’m lucky to have made friends for life, and I know Bondi is in safe hands.’
Harrison had a lot of big moments on Bondi Rescue, from saving countless lives at sea to meeting mega pop star Dua Lipa.
Taking to Instagram in March, the lifeguard shared a memento of the meeting that showed him beaming alongside the Levitating hitmaker as they posed on the golden sand.
Dua looked casual in a white tank top with the word ‘hardcore’ emblazoned across the chest, while Harrison wore his trademark lifeguard uniform.
‘Some days are tougher than others at work… and today was a tough one,’ he wrote, tagging the pop star in the humorous quip.
