A body language expert has accused Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour of performing an ‘OTT comedy double act for the cameras’ after their over affectionate display on Thursday night.
The actress, 21, and her co-star, 50, had a warm reunion at the Stranger Things final season premiere, with their friendly display continuing at the afterparty.
Despite reports Millie has filed a harassment and bullying claim against David, she was pictured with her hands on his shoulders as she laughed hysterically at his jokes.
And now body language expert Judi James has explained to the The Daily Mail that it is rare for red carpet displays to be totally authentic and Millie and David’s actions appear to be ‘overkill-looking rituals’.
She explained: ‘The photos here seem to suggest the pair join up in something of a comedy double-act for the cameras.
‘She raises one hand to the level of his face as he speaks in an elegantly dramatic gesture, suggesting she is reflecting what he is saying.’
Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have been accused of performing an ‘OTT comedy double act for the cameras’ by a body language expert as the pair put on a bizarre display at the Stranger Things party on Thursday

‘But then they perform a comedy, mirrored-pose upgrade, both staring upward and pointing to suggest shared humour for this visual ‘joke’ they appear to both get and be amused by.’
Judi continued: ‘Their earlier red-carpet body language mood seemed to have the dial set on “Playfully delighted to see each other” with some overkill, helpless laughter from Millie as David cracked what looked like one-liners.
‘That mood seems to have extended to the after show party, with some similarly overkill-looking rituals here appearing to be aimed at emphasizing this visual sense of a playful and warm co-star relationship.’
Referencing the snaps of the pair laughing together, she said: ‘Their close proximity here would appear to signal friendship and an apparent appreciation of each other’s company.
‘David is less active here in terms of his touch and eye contact rituals, standing upright and with his hands stuffed in his trouser pockets to suggest a casual and relaxed mood.
‘He looks over Millie’s head to crack his jokes and Millie seems to show her appreciation by retaining that suggestion of being helpless with laughter as her response.
‘She adopts a more clinging-looking pose, hunching her shoulders towards David and hooking a hand over each of his shoulders as she looks up into his face.
‘Her features here are puckered into a look that suggests she is trying to contain the laughter that is about to break out. It would be a very flattering-looking response to anyone trying to be funny.’

The Daily Mail exclusively reported this month that the British actress filed ‘pages and pages of accusations’ against David before filming began on the sci-fi series’ final season.
The revelation arrived amid the ongoing drama following David’s separation from his estranged wife Lily Allen earlier this year.
Despite the unexpected harassment complaints, there wasn’t any hint of bad blood between David and Millie when they beamed while posing together on the red carpet for the premiere, which was held at the iconic Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
Hours earlier, Millie had baffled fans with her reaction when she came face-to-face with David at the season five premiere.
The two had their arms around each other affectionately as they posed for the cameras, and both flashed wide smiles.
On Instagram, Netflix posted a video of the two arriving together at the premiere which showed them coming together for a hug in front of cheering fans outside the theater.
As if to signal that Millie and David’s work conflict was just water under the bridge, the two stars were joined on the red carpet by Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos and CCO Bela Bajaria.
Millie’s husband Jake Bongiovi, whom she wed last year, didn’t appear to join her on the red carpet but he was later seen at the afterparty.
Millie stars on Stranger Things as the supernaturally gifted Eleven, who is adopted by the police chief of fictional Indiana town Hawkins, Jim Hopper (Harbour), after she escapes from a secretive government facility that conducted experiments on her as a child.
Last week, The Mail on Sunday revealed that David faced an internal inquiry as a result of Brown’s complaints against him.
Crucially, the complaints did not include any allegations of sexual impropriety.
So far, the outcome of the investigation is unknown, though it hasn’t prevented the two actors from making their public reunion at the season premiere in Hollywood.
