BBC studios revealed on Thursday that a collection of 20 new Bluey ‘Minisodes’ are set to be released later this year.
And fans of the animation series took to X to express their excitement after the highly successful global premiere of the longest-ever Bluey episode, ‘The Sign’ – broke viewing records for the BBC a week after its release.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) one fan beamed: ‘HOORAY!!!!’;
‘I can’t wait! We love this show in our house! (love heart emoji)’;
‘Yeah!! This the happiest news of all my life!!’;
‘Hooray! Let’s go!’;
BBC studios revealed that a collection of 20 new Bluey ‘Minisodes’ are set to be released later this year
‘Between this news and a new Lord Of The Rings movie, today is shaping up to be a good day.’
The Bluey ‘Minisodes’ will include several funny and sweet moments featuring Bluey and Bingo.
There will also be several new characters alongside fan favourites Unicorse, Nana, and Bob Heeler.
The first batch of Bluey ‘Minisodes’ written by Bluey creator Joe Brumm will air on ABC in June for audiences in Australia and will be available to stream on Disney Jr. and Disney+ this July.
It comes after ‘The Sign’ gathered more than 10 million views worldwide on Disney+ just a week after its release, and quickly became the top ABC programme of 2024.
Cecilia Persson the managing director of BBC Studios Kids & Family, revealed in a statement: ‘We know that fans loved ‘The Sign’ and were delighted when ‘Surprise’ suddenly landed so we are extremely happy to bring them even more Bluey.

‘The Minisodes were created to dive deeper into the wonderful world and characters of Bluey, highlighting the cultural references and games that ignite joy amongst our fans. From Dad’s new robot to Unicorse’s no filter, we know fans will go wackadoo for this fantastic new content.’
The children’s TV show, which tells the story of the titular Blue Heeler puppy who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister Bingo, has become hugely popular since its debut in 2018 and has gone on to win several awards, including a BAFTA and an Emmy Award.
It comes before a new Bluey Book Read named ‘Mum School’ launched on Saturday and huge Hollywood star Eva Mendes was the lead voiceover for the book.
Bluey Book Reads launched just two months ago, however, since then the series has become a huge hit and garnered over 20 million views across Bluey’s digital channels.
The series debuted earlier this year and instantly became a hit with listeners as Kylie Minogue and Dannii Minogue did the voiceover for the ‘Mini Bluey’ book.
The digital content series so far has also included readings from celebrities such as Bindi Irwin, Suranne Jones, Tom Daley, Jenna Fischer, and Romesh Ranganathan.
