Comedian and actor Alex Duong, best known for his appearances on Blue Bloods, has passed away at 42 after battling .
A close friend of the family Hilarie Steele confirmed to TMZ that Duong died early Saturday at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, following septic shock the night before.
Diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, Duong began his fight after experiencing severe headaches behind his eye.
The diagnosis led to aggressive treatments, including an eye patch, but the cancer continued to take its toll.
A GoFundMe campaign, set up by Hilarie, was created to help Duong’s journey to regain sight.
Now, the campaign is accepting donations to support his wife Cristina and five-year-old daughter Everest after his passing.
