Blake Lively revealed she has created her own haircare line that took seven years to develop that will be available exclusively at Target and her website next week.
After sparking speculation that she was launching her new beauty brand earlier this week, the 36-year-old Gossip Girl alum confirmed her latest business venture, called Blake Brown.
‘Ever since I was a kid, through adolescence, early adulthood, motherhood, work, personal life, whenever, wherever, the single most identifiable part about me has always been my personalit— no? Not my personality? Oh… My hair,’ the mother-of-four captioned her announcement post.
She continued: ‘It’s my longest companion in life. For 36 years and counting. And like any relationship, it’s healthiest when you take good care of each other. To love it well, I’ve found a system that has worked wonders for me, a hack of sorts through decades of working with the very best people in the industry, and silly amounts of trial and error.’
The actress, who is married to Ryan Reynolds, mused that the lengthy development process toggled ‘between impressive and wtf [what the f**k] took so long.’
After recalling how she ‘obsessively’ worked on ‘every detail of’ her newest baby, Lively revealed why she created Blake Brown.
‘Why create a line if I had products that worked? Great question. I wanted something that was more affordable but had the same salon/red carpet performance… turns out highest quality is most expensive, who knew??’ she wrote. ‘There’s a reason brands tend to have to make compromises, but we didn’t stop til we got there.’
The star noted that she wanted ‘wanted scents that felt like fragrances’ that she ‘would actually buy as high end perfume.’
‘I wanted it to be cleaner than the products I was using with great results so I didn’t feel nervous sharing it with family,’ she continued. ‘I wanted it to attempt to show how beautiful maximum sustainability can be. I wanted it to be vegan, cruelty free and formulated without sulfates, silicones, parabens, synthetic dyes etc.’
Additionally, a self-proclaimed lover of design, Lively admitted it was important to her that the products looked ‘stunning’ on customer’s shelves ‘because that’s valuable space in your home.’
‘I was uncompromising on achieving all of those things at once,’ she gushed. ‘And now I see why there was nothing out there that hit all my goals simultaneously. It was a beast to build. But I couldn’t be prouder of it what we created for you.’
The performer, who rose to fame for her role in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants franchise, shared an additional post, featuring her rocking a black leather jacket and red lipstick.
In the image, her golden locks looked extra glamorous as they were gently swept to one side.
Since entering the spotlight, the bombshell’s signature honey blonde hair has always been one of her most talked about features.
The public’s infatuation with her stunning tresses amplified during her five-year stint playing Serena van der Woodsen on CW’s hit drama, Gossip Girl, alongside Leighton Meester, Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford.
