When Billie Eilish was 13 years old in 2015 she experienced a Sliding Doors-style moment where one 'horrible' hip injury managed to killed one of her dreams - becoming a professional dancer - while launching her into the stratosphere of worldwide fame

At the time, the 24-year-old sullen songstress (pictured in 2014) was rehearsing for a dance competition with her coach, Revolution Dance Center owner Fred Diaz, and she decided to use her future debut single Ocean Eyes she had recorded with her big brother Finneas

'We were about to leave and our teacher was like, "Wait, let's do one more just to film it." And so we did one more and we filmed it and in the middle of my little twerk, literally 13 years old, I'm like my hip is like [break noise].

'I got injured and then I was poof! Laying on the floor, couldn't walk, couldn't dance, definitely couldn't do anything and was basically like bedridden for at least a week and then I was on crutches and I literally never danced again.'

At the same time, Eilish and her 28-year-old brother had outlets like Hillydilly and New Music Friday reaching out to them about their viral song as well as Interscope Records, who eventually signed her.
