It’s over for Bill Hader and Ali Wong.
The couple, who went public with their romance in April 2023, have called time on their two-year relationship.
‘It was too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali’s upcoming stand-up tour and Bill’s film and TV projects this year,’ an insider explained to People on Wednesday.
‘They’re now focusing on work and their kids, while still supporting each other.’
Daily Mail has not received a response to its request for comment from reps for both Hader and Wong.
Despite the split, things remain ‘very amicable,’ the source adds, with the pair described as friends who continue to stay in touch.

The breakup news comes just weeks after Hader and Wong were spotted in a tearful moment outside their cars.
Appearing tense and emotional, Hader walked Wong to her vehicle in Los Angeles at the end of November.
The pair clung to each other, sharing what looked like a heartfelt farewell kiss before heading their separate ways.
Hints of strain first emerged last year when Wong skipped the red carpet with Hader and didn’t mention him while accepting her 2025 Golden Globes award.
She took home Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television for her Netflix special Single Lady.
At the time, Hader’s team insisted the couple was still together and explained his absence was due to a health issue.
The breakup comes amid a particularly difficult period for Hader, following a tense encounter with Nick Reiner, son of director Rob Reiner, at Conan O’Brien’s Christmas party – hours before Nick allegedly murdered his parents.
A source told the Daily Mail that the SNL star ‘is horrified’ and ‘extremely sad’ over the deaths of Rob and his wife Michele, and ‘doesn’t want to be connected to this story’.

‘Bill doesn’t want this tragedy to be made about him, and any disagreement he may have had with Nick, Bill is refusing to talk about it,’ the insider added.
Beloved director Reiner, 78, and Michele, 70, were found dead in their Los Angeles home, their throats slit.
Nick was arrested later that day and has since been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, carrying a potential sentence of life without parole or the death penalty.
According to sources, Nick reportedly ‘stormed off’ the party after the brief interaction with Hader.
The insider stressed: ‘Bill, like everyone who saw Rob and Michele at the party, is horrified over what happened and is extremely sad that what went down, actually went down. With total respect for Rob and Michele and their family, Bill is not going to talk about his interaction with Nick publicly.’
‘He doesn’t want to be connected to this story over a few-minute interaction at a party that was meant to be fun and festive,’ the source added.
Back in October 2024, Wong spoke candidly about her ‘unconventional’ relationship with ex-husband Justin Hakuta while she was dating Hader.
The comedian ended her eight-year marriage to Hakuta in 2022 but has continued both a personal and professional connection with him.

Reflecting on the unique dynamic, Wong told InStyle magazine: ‘I understand that some people really need to cut the cord, but that never worked for me.’
She added: ‘Divorces are like snowflakes. There’s truly no two alike.’
Wong and Hakuta first met at a friend’s wedding reception in 2010 and tied the knot in San Francisco in 2014.
In her October 2024 Netflix special Ali Wong: Single Lady, Wong revealed how Hader entered her life just as she was navigating her divorce.
After getting her number through a mutual friend, she said he sent a message confessing he had had a crush on her ‘forever’ and asked her to be his girlfriend.
Wong also shared that Hader went the extra mile, sending her flowers while she was travelling in Europe.
Reflecting on the romance in the special, she said: ‘I did fall in love again. Some of you might know who the guy is. And it just so happens to be the man who sent me all of those flowers in Europe.’
