Big Brother’s Grace and Mikey: Engaged After 4 Months—19 Years of Marriage Insights

They are Big Brother’s longest-surviving romance.

And series seven stars Grace Adams-Short and Mikey Dalton have spoken out about how their love has lasted since meeting on the show a whopping 19 years ago.

The dance teacher, 42, and her husband, 40, spoke to Heat Magazine about their romance and the intensity of falling in love under the glare of Big Brother’s eye – and how finding one another pre-social media helped their lasting union.

She said: ‘We got engaged after four months and everybody said it was a short amount of time, but they didn’t understand that we were with each other 24 hours a day. Our first week together felt like we’d been in a relationship for six months’.

The couple welcomed son Atticus in January 2022, and are also parents to Georgiana, 13, Spencer, 10, and Allegra, six – and have revealed the secrets to the romance they founded in the most unique of ways.

Despite a string of romances that blossomed in front of viewers’ eyes across several series of the show, Grace and Mikey are the only couple still together today.

The couple tied the knot in 2009 and admitted that not finding each other in the age of social media was a definite help in establishing their love.

Grace said: ‘Life was so different then. There was no Instagram, it was just a totally different world. If you wanted to say something, you had to do an interview with a glossy mag. We used to do so many interviews with Heat…

‘That was the way you would respond to things. Whereas now everyone just does a social media post.’

Mikey went on: ‘I liked the old way – I’m glad we did it at a time before social media. There’s more negativity now while we just enjoyed it for what it is was. We both went in just for the experience and were lucky to find each other’.

On how to tackle their kids seeing how their story played out, Grace and Mikey previously said they plan to show their children series six of the programme so they can see ‘where mummy and daddy fell in love’.

They announced their pregnancy in September 2021, when they revealed that, although they were actively trying for another baby, who was due on January 8, they were shocked at how fast the pregnancy came.

She told OK! magazine: ‘It’s funny as people keep asking if we’re having any more and I’m like, “We’ve just had a baby and four is a big number!”‘

While delightedly announcing their baby news, Grace also spoke about her pregnancy and revealed she suffered a rare condition which caused issues.

She said: ‘I had to be induced early as I had a condition called anti-C, which can cause complications with the baby’s antibodies…

‘I never had it with my other pregnancies, it was stressful. All through the pregnancy I had to give blood every two weeks.’

She has previously revealed her highlight of her time on Big Brother was ‘meeting the daddy of our three munchkins’ and credited the franchise for giving her the opportunity to buy multiple homes and travel the world.

She told The Sun: ‘It was kind of like a holiday romance. We just enjoyed it really and everything we did since then has felt right for us.

‘Without Big Brother, I would never of been able to buy a quarter of a million pound flat in London by myself at the age of 20 and travel the way I did.’
