Long-standing Brisbane radio star Ash Bradnam has announced his exit from his popular Nova breakfast show.
The radio veteran told listeners last week that Friday’s episode would be his last with the Ash, Luttsy & Nikki Osborne show.
He was quick to thank his loyal audience for tuning in every morning for the past two decades.  Â
‘To the listeners, thank you. I love radio. I’ve loved this job – I’m a radio dog,’ he said.
‘I’ve absolutely loved sharing my mornings with you. So thank you very much for listening, and thank you for 20 years.’
Becoming emotional as he made his final farewell, Bradnam fought back tears as he said goodbye to the job he loved. Â

‘I’ve had the time of my life,’ he said. ‘I’ve loved this job… and I really feel like I’ve had the full brekkie radio experience.Â
‘You know I’ve been stealing soft drinks from the street team for over a decade now.’
Bradnam also had some sweet words for his co-host David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral in his farewell speech.
‘I’ve sat in this chair every day for two decades. I‘m going to miss working with you, Lutts, I love you,’ he said.
It was a sentiment that was eagerly reciprocated by Lutteral. Â
‘Quite simply, nobody has had a greater impact on Nova Brisbane in its history,’ he said.
‘Ash is a true radio man, a legend of his craft and a brilliant talent. This landscape will feel completely foreign without him.Â
‘I am certain he will pursue new projects, and I can’t wait to see his next evolution.’

A clip of Bradnam’s announcement, shared to Instagram, was met with a flurry of comments from crestfallen fans.
‘How disappointing to lose such a great funny man whom all Brisbane love,’ one listener wrote.
Another chimed in with a similar: ‘Ash, I have just cried from Beenleigh to Redland Bay after hearing your announcement.Â
‘I didn’t realise how much of a role you have played in our daily life until something like this happens.’
A third listener added that with Bradnam gone, they would be re-tuning the dial.
‘Well… with that… this is also my last show,’ they wrote.
‘Been with you since the start mate… believe it or not… your raw open way of getting through your stuff… good and bad… has helped more than you’ll ever know…get up and get through theirs.’
