The Last Of Us’ Bella Ramsey’s Golden Globes look divided fans after they hit the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday in an extremely kooky ensemble.
The British star, 22, who identifies as non-binary and uses the pronouns they/them, took to the event in a tailored black suit with a bold pink bow wrapped around their shoulders with a vast fastening across their chest.
The internet instantly eupted with reaction to the ensemble, with a number of fans lauding the Prada look and claiming they were making a statement about gender.
The comment read: ‘I think it is a representation of her wanting to wear masculine outfits but society forcing her to wear feminine like a dress or a bow….did I eat?’ while another added: ‘Femininity and gender roles as a restraint. Borringgg’.
More playful observers however likened the star to a variety of items, including a coffin from Netflix’s Squid Games, a banquet chair and a gift-wrapped present.

Bella attended the awards in the hope of going home with the Best Performance by an Actress in a TV Series — Drama gong, for her role in The Last Of Us.
They were beaten to the gong by Pluribus star Rhea Seehorn.
Last year, Bella spoke to Louis Theroux about gendered award categories, saying: ‘If people call me an actress, I have a guttural ‘ugh, that’s not quite right’ instinct to it.
‘But I just don’t take it too seriously. It doesn’t feel like an attack on my identity. It’s just a funny thing that doesn’t really fit.’
She went on: ‘I think it’s so important that recognition for women in the industry is preserved. The gendered categories conversation is really interesting…
‘I don’t have the answer, and I wish that there was an easy way around it, but I think that it is really important that we have a female category and a male category. But then, where do non-binary or gender non-conforming people fit into that? I don’t know’.
They was nominated for best actress at the Baftas in 2024 and Emmys in 2023 for their portrayal of Ellie in The Last of Us. Emmy bosses were criticised for nominating Ramsey in the actress category.
