Despite being a regular fixture at the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Bec Judd revealed a surprising fear ahead of her Derby Day appearance at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday.
Bec took to Instagram to share a snap that showed her taking part in a photoshoot in her role as Crown Melbourne ambassador for Melbourne Cup Carnival events.
She looked absolutely stunning in a custom sleeveless black gown from Melbourne label J’Aton.
The sleek dress clung to Bec’s svelte form perfectly and also featured a thigh-high split, showing off her trim and toned pins.
Wearing a matching wide-brimmed hat and large gold pendant earrings, Bec posed for photographers as a horse stood just inches behind her.

It was the perfect photo to kick off Derby Day, but Bec admitted in the caption, saying she had more than a few reservations about her co-star and the ‘intense’ photoshoot.
‘Race horses scare me (I’ve had a few bad experiences in the past),’ Bec candidly admitted. ‘This was intense.’
Bec added that she even asked a higher power to keep her equine photo partner calm during the shoot.
‘I literally prayed to God for a calm one and I was trying to act chill so the horse wasn’t reacting off my nerves,’ she wrote.
‘Lucky I’m a good actor.’
Despite her surprising fear of horses, Bec admitted to loving watching them race as she reminisced about past Melbourne Cup Carnivals with the Herald Sun.
‘I have always loved attending the races,’ she told the publication.
‘My husband even had hair and a goatee, that’s how long ago it was,’ Bec added, referring to her first Melbourne Cup Carnival with her husband of 14 years, Chris.

‘Social media is a highlight reel. I don’t dress up for fun. The spray tans, the whitening, the lashes… everything!’ Bec recently told the Life With Danni Duncan podcast.
‘It makes me look good, but would I do that every day? Hell no!’
Bec revealed the dolled-up posts she often shares to her Instagram page capture her at her best and fans should look at her 24-Hour Stories reel for a more accurate idea of what her daily routine is like.
‘It is not my real life… if you want to know what my real life is, go into my stories,’ Bec said.
‘Eighty per cent of the time when I do the school drop-off, I am in pyjamas and Ugg boots.
‘I’m probably vain 10 – 20 per cent of the time, usually when I am at a work event,’ she finished.
