His final ever braodcast will air on the station on Saturday 27 November.
In a statement posted on social media to confirm his departure, the BBC said: “Huey Morgan has decided to leave 6 Music and his last show will be on Saturday 27th November.
“We would like to thank Huey for being part of the 6 Music family for 17 years, and for bringing us all such a brilliant soundtrack to our Saturday mornings.
“We will miss him and wish him the very best for the future.”
Huey is yet to comment directly on his departure.
The star joined 6 Music after rising to fame as a musician in the band Fun Lovin Criminals.

In recent years, he has been increasingly concentrating on television ventures.
He has hosted the BBC travel series Huey Morgan’s Latin Music Adventure which same him travel around South America as well as working with Sky and Channel 4 on various shows.
