BBC Breakfast presenter Nina Warhurst has broken her social media silence as she reached out to fans for advice.
The journalist, 43, announced a hiatus from social media platforms two weeks ago, and admitted she loves Instagram ‘a bit too much’ because she finds herself ‘scrolling all the time’.
Revealing she has encountered the dark sides of the platform, such as ‘catching up on people’s stories’ and ‘checking for likes’, the BBC star claimed ‘enough is enough’.
But just after a few weeks, Nina peeped out on X – formerly Twitter – asking her 47K followers for a friendly word of advice.
‘Afternoon all. Breaking my non-work social media hiatus to ask for recommendations for a girls’* weekend in the fine city of #Birmingham,’ she penned.

The journalist, 43, announced a hiatus from social media platforms two weeks ago, and admitted she loves Instagram ‘a bit too much’ because she finds herself ‘scrolling all the time’
She added a ticking box emoji before listing: ‘Cocktails, curries, cosy pubs, interesting wanders.’
Then she added a red X emoji, ruling out: ‘Having to shout or queue at dinner.
‘(*ok we’re 43 but were girls when we met, so).’
Although, Nina hasn’t returned to any of her social media platforms yet since announcing the break.
At the time, Nina shared a heart-melting snap with her little daughter Nance, 9 months, as she playfully cradled her.
Alongside the sweet shot, she shared a very candid statement: ‘TTFN. Signing off from insta for a few weeks. I *love* this site. I don’t take myself, or the apparently perfect lives of others, too seriously.
‘I howl laughing every day from a scarily accurate meme. I connect with lovely people who I don’t get to see IRL. And there are loads of cats and babies.
‘Maybe I love it too much…. Because I’ve found myself scrolling all. The. Time.

‘Catching up on people’s stories, having a nosey at how people live who have nothing to do with me, and (the absolute grossest) checking for likes…. Enough is enough. I’ve never had so many plates to spin, and this little chick needs my full attention more often,’ she said bluntly
