Highly-popular 1990s beach drama Baywatch is not only set to return with a reboot but the series will also be highlighted in an upcoming docuseries.
Four-part series After Baywatch: Moment In The Sun is set to stream on Hulu in August and it will feature a never-aired Pamela Anderson interview in addition to cast home videos and never-before-seen footage.
ABC News Studios made the announcement on Wednesday as the press release boasts that the series is ‘a nostalgic and insightful exploration of Baywatch, the cultural phenomenon that defined an era, and an unprecedented look into the stars who brought the world’s most famous lifeguards to life.
Through dozens of new cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, this docuseries unpacks how the show captured the mythology of California’s beach culture, set physical beauty standards for an entire generation, and capitalized on the adage ‘sex sells.”‘
There are several listed cast members and producers who were confirmed to be interviewed for the project including: Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, Billy Warlock, Alexandra Paul, Gregory Alan Williams, David Chokachi, Jeremy Jackson, Traci Bingham, Erika Eleniak, Michael Newman, Michael Berk and Douglas Schwartz.

Pamela, 57, and leading man David Hasselhoff’s, 71, names were not listed on the press release.
However some of the major draws of the docuseries include ‘never-aired interview with Pamela Anderson and over a decade’s worth of never-before-seen home videos shot by the cast themselves.
‘These candid and intimate clips offer viewers a unique glimpse into the real dynamics, struggles, friendships and moments that happened off-camera. The series also explores the show’s impact on pop culture and its enduring legacy.’
After Baywatch: Moment In The Sun will begin streaming on Hulu beginning August 28.
Meanwhile back in March, it was revealed that Baywatch will soon see a live-action reboot on television.
Fox has landed a reboot of the highly-popular series as the network has closed on a deal with Freemantle according to Variety on March 4.
The series originally starred the aforementioned Hasselhoff from 1989 to 1999 before being retooled as Baywatch Hawaii from 1999 to 2001 which starred Jason Momoa.
He also starred in spinoff series Baywatch Nights which aired from 1995 to 1997.

Pamela led the red swimsuit brigade which included actresses like Yasmine Bleeth, Nicole Eggert, Alexandra Paul, Parker Stevenson, Erika Eleniak, in addition to several others.
It remains unclear if the Pamela, David, or any of the series regulars will be returning to the franchise in any capacity.
The original series took place at a Los Angeles beach where a team of lifeguards led by Lieutenant Mitch Buchannon (Hasselhoff) save lives, deal with personal dramas, fight crime and participate in over the top adventures on a daily basis.
It was created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann as it was inspired by Bonann’s time as an LA County lifeguard.
The four will serve as executive producers on the upcoming hour-long drama.
The original series was pitched by Bonann and was passed on by CBS and later the pilot Baywatch: Panic At The Malibu Pier was sold to NBC and aired as a TV movie and was so successful that it was picked up for a 12-episode season.
Lara Olsen has been tapped by Fox and Freemantle as the showrunner for the new series according to Variety.
The synopsis for the revamped Baywatch reads: ‘Daring ocean rescues, pristine beaches, and iconic red bathing suits are back, along with a whole new generation of Baywatch lifeguards, who navigate complicated, messy personal lives in this action-packed reboot that demonstrates there’s the family you’re born into and the family you find.’

The original series was a worldwide phenomenon as it aired in more than 145 countries at one point which is more than any other TV show.
According to Variety, the public relations team for the series even made up a stat calling it the ‘No. 1 series in the world,’ which was even printed as fact in numerous publications.
Fox has a previous relationship with the franchise as it aired TV reunion movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding in 2003.
Just recently the franchise had been rebooted in a different way as a feature film was released in 2017.
The film – which starred Dwayne ‘The Rock Johnson, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Zach Efron, and Kelly Rohrbach – was a success at the box office as it grossed $178million globally.
The movie also featured cameos from Hasselhoff and Anderson.
