Bargain Hunt auctioneer, Charles Hanson, has been charged with assault and coercive behaviour following a police investigation into domestic abuse allegations.
Seven charges have been levied against the 45-year-old, including two of assault causing actual bodily harm, and one of controlling and coercive behaviour.
Earlier this year, Charles moved out of his £1.5 million family home, which he shared with wife Rebecca Ludlam.
According to The Sun, police were called to the premises after there was a unspecified incident at the six-bedroom Derbyshire property.
An insider told the publication: ‘It is not the sort of place you expect police to turn up… It is a tiny village so a few people have been talking. It is all very shocking.’

Who is Charles Hanson’s wife, Rebecca Ludlam?
Charles Hanson made his first appearance on Bargain Hunt all the way back in 2002.
Eight years later he married his wife, Rebecca Ludlam, in Derbyshire in 2010 after the lovebirds met through friends.
In an January interview with the Daily Express, Charles discussed how ‘lucky’ he was to be with Rebecca.
He said: ‘She is a beautiful, blonde, elegant and lovely lady. I’m used to dealing with beautiful things, but Rebecca is the most beautiful treasure of all, and I’m very lucky she is my wife.’
Rebecca’s job is a far cry from her husband’s public facing role, as she is employed as a diagnostic radiographer.
In a discussion with the Daily Express, Charles elaborated that the pair both managed their jam packed work timetables.
He divulged that the pair were ‘very happy together’ despite being extremely busy individuals.
In another 2010 interview with the publication, Rebecca explained: ‘Because he is very giving, he has a problem saying no sometimes and that often means he is very busy.
‘But, when he is away, I can usually flick on the television and see if he’s on there and that’s always a nice feeling.’

The couple share two children together, Matilda – who was born in 2014 – and Frederick who made his way into the world two years later
Do Charles Hanson and Rebecca Ludlam have children?
The couple welcomed their daughter, Matilda into the world in 2014. Two years later their son, Frederick was born.
The pair have experienced a great deal of heartbreak, as their first child, Tommy, was stillborn in 2012.
Following the loss of their first son, Charles opened up about the parents’ ordeal to Staffordshire Live.
The auctioneer said: ‘After losing Tommy, who was born asleep in September 2012, we were overjoyed to have Matilda, who was born in 2014, and who has a calm and relaxed nature, just like my wife.’
Rebecca confessed: ‘What happened was terrible and it could not have come at a worse time for us.’
The heartbreak came only a few weeks after the Bargain Hunt star received his testicular cancer diagnosis.
Charles told MyLondon : ‘I can remember driving to the hospital in tears. We were so worried, but I suppose we still hoped that the baby would be all right.
Regarding his cancer diagnosis, the expert told The Mirror: ‘Being diagnosed with testicular cancer was a real shock.
‘I’ve been fit and healthy for years so you don’t think something like that is going to get you.
‘It had been a busy summer with filming and auctions, but last August, I had just got out of the shower when I noticed things felt wrong.’
