Barbra Streisand has been working since she was a teenager and over the past six and a half decades has amassed a fortune of some $510 million.
The superstar, 83, who recently revealed she ‘can’t remember’ whether she had sex with one of Hollywood’s most legendary lotharios, is preparing to release what could be her final album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two.
The record is the follow-up to her successful 2014 release Partners.
The multiple Grammy winner shares the mic with an eclectic mix of artists including Ariana Grande, Paul McCartney, Tim McGraw, Sam Smith and more.
With a documentary about her life in the works as well, it may come as a surprise to many that the Funny Girl star has claimed, ‘I’m very lazy. I don’t like to have to work.’
‘I like to be free. I don’t like to have commitments,’ she asserted.

With a 65 year behind her and a fortune estimated at some $510 million, Barbra Streisand reveals ‘I’m very lazy. I don’t like to have to work,’ as she prepares to release her new album according to Variety
The EGOT made that interesting admission during an interview with Variety to promote her new release and reflected on her career.
Although her co-singer Ariana Grande has been cast in the new Meet the Parents film as the fiancée of one of Robert DeNiro’s grandchildren, there’s no guarantee Streisand will reprise her role as Ben Stiller’s mom Roz Focker.
‘Oh my God. They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off,’ she said of the 2004 comedy Meet the Fockers and its 2010 sequel Little Fockers.
‘I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men. The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet.’
In spite of her self-proclaimed aversion to work, Streisand is executive producing the upcoming multi-part docuseries on her life, which is being directed by Oscar nominee Frank Marshall.
She also produced her latest album explaining, ‘I have to approve everything. That’s the way it was with me at the beginning, and that’s the way it is with me at the ending.’
Streisand has been happily married to actor James Brolin, 84, since 1998. The two met on a blind date in 1996 at a dinner party. She and the Ransom Canyon star were instantly attracted to each other and the rest is history.
In an interview on Today in April Brolin joked the ‘best investment’ the couple had made in their relationship was ‘our mattress.’

Streisand’s new album, The Secret of Life: Partners, Volume Two will be released on Friday

The Grammy winner said it’s doubtful she will perform songs from the new record, but loves recording music. ‘I can look like a schlump. I don’t have to put on makeup… I can just sing,’ she said

‘They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid and so I’m pissed off,’ she said of her experience with the 2004 comedy
While Brolin is very much at home on the range, Streisand said she feels most at home in a recording studio.
‘I’m alone. I can look like a schlump. I don’t have to put on makeup, I don’t have to perform. I can just sing. And I love doing that. I love recording.’
Whether she will ever perform again on stage or screen is up in the air although the singer-actress-director-producer still gets offers.
