Another chaotic chapter has unfolded in the rollercoaster life of Jackass star Bam Margera.
The 46-year-old former MTV wild child – whose recent years have been defined by addiction battles, arrests, and public meltdowns – has agreed to pay $2,500 per month in child support to his estranged wife Nikki Boyd for their eight-year-old son Phoenix.
The payments are set to begin January 1, according to court documents obtained by TMZ on Wednesday.
The paperwork also states that Nikki will continue to provide and maintain Phoenix’s health insurance coverage.
The agreement marks a dramatic shift from Nikki’s initial demand.Â
She had previously asked the court to order Bam to pay $15,000 per month, arguing that his net worth hovered around $55 million.Â

That figure was later revised downward, with Nikki requesting an increase to $486 per month in June 2024 – before the two sides ultimately landed on the $2,500 figure.
The legal truce comes after years of turmoil for Margera.Â
In 2021, he was fired from Jackass Forever after allegedly breaching a wellness agreement tied to the film.Â
Two years later, his troubles escalated when he was arrested twice in quick succession –Â first for allegedly kicking his girlfriend during a domestic dispute, and then weeks later for drunkenly causing a scene at a Burbank restaurant where Nikki and Phoenix were dining.
Following a DUI parole violation, Margera was released from jail in September and entered short-term treatment.
Court filings paint a bleak picture of Nikki’s financial situation.Â
Her attorney previously told the court, ‘Bam does not provide Phoenix with health insurance and does not pay for any extras such as education, child-care or housing.’
He added, ‘This amount is not sufficient for Phoenix’ support and Nikki is severely financially struggling, all while Bam remains a relevant media figure, continues to travel around the country (except to California to visit Phoenix or attend hearings related to this matter), owns real property and has substantial assets in the bank.’

Nikki’s legal team also accused Margera of stonewalling attempts to verify his finances, citing ‘hurdles, roadblocks’ and his alleged failure to ‘substantially comply’ with discovery requests.
Her lawyer further stated, ‘Although we believe the additional discovery we seek through our request to compel discovery will result in much higher income and support obligations, it is also true that the limited additional discovery provided by Bam on May 9, 2024 verifies that the current temporary order does not provide an accurate obligation for Bam based off even this limited discovery.’
According to Nikki, the financial records that were eventually produced showed Bam earned more than $167,000 in 2023 –Â including $90,000 from Paramount Pictures and $30,000 from Cameo videos.Â
She also claimed he held an IRA worth $512,000 and another account containing $491,000.
Nikki was ultimately awarded sole physical custody of Phoenix, with Bam granted limited supervised visitation.
She filed for legal separation in 2023, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’ and requesting sole legal and physical custody.Â
Margera pushed back, asking the court to dismiss her petition and insisting they were never legally married.
He told the court the couple held a ceremony in Iceland in 2013 but claimed Nikki knew it was not legally binding and was staged to promote the opening of a skate park.

Margera’s long-running substance abuse issues only deepened the rift.Â
Nikki and her legal team argued his alcohol use made supervision necessary whenever he was around Phoenix.
Now, Bam insists he is sober – and credits his new wife, Dannii Marie, for the turnaround.Â
The pair married in 2024, and Margera has claimed Dannii made it clear that drinking would be treated ‘basically the same as cheating.’
In May 2024, Margera made a surprise return to public life, stepping onto the red carpet looking healthier and upbeat at the launch party for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4.Â
He posed alongside Tony Hawk himself, fueling speculation that the once-estranged skater was inching toward a comeback.
For months, rumors had circulated that Margera had been cut from the reboot entirely — until reports suggested Hawk intervened at the last minute to bring him back.Â
While nothing was officially confirmed at the time, Margera’s appearance at the launch event seemed to settle the question.
Given his troubled history — including his firing from Jackass Forever — many doubted Activision would work with him again.Â
But insiders said Hawk had the final say, and Margera had been spotted frequenting Hawk’s private skatepark in the months leading up to the event.
In September 2024, following another DUI parole violation, Margera was released from jail and entered short-term treatment.Â
His attorney, Michael T. van der Veen, told DailyMail.com, ‘He is back on the road to his successful career and wonderful life with his wife.’
Van der Veen added that Margera had passed all drug and alcohol screenings for more than a year and was ‘interested in getting better’ and ‘getting this case behind him.’
Margera was sentenced to six months of probation after pleading guilty to two counts of disorderly conduct.Â
The terms included random drug testing and mandatory mental health treatment.
Addressing the judge at the time, Margera said, ‘I just want to say thanks for this whole situation. It lets me clean up my life. It is a blessing in disguise.’
The charges stemmed from a string of disturbing incidents in 2023, including an alleged physical altercation with his brother Jess Margera.
Jess testified that Bam punched him repeatedly and issued threats toward multiple family members.Â
‘He was threatening everybody. The whole house,’ Jess told the court. ‘My girlfriend looked like she had just gotten back from Afghanistan, with PTSD.’
An arrest affidavit stated that Margera fled into nearby woods before being apprehended.
Margera has battled addiction and cycled through rehab repeatedly since 2009 – but with a new marriage, a tentative career revival, and now a court-ordered child support agreement in place, he appears to be facing a rare moment of accountability.
