2024 will mark the 77th ever British Academy Film Awards, which are gracing Britain’s screens soon – here’s all you need to know.
The ceremony, which celebrates the best British and international contributions to film will be broadcast on February 18 on BBC One at 8pm but anyone who misses out can catch up on BBC iPlayer.
This year’s BAFTA awards will take place at the Royal Festival Hall within London’s Southbank Centre again – just like the year before.
Doctor Who star David Tennant, 52, will take over the coveted spot from last year’s hosts Alison Hammond and Richard E. Grant, and will front the star-studded ceremony.
He said: ‘I am delighted to have been asked to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards and help celebrate the very best of this year’s films and the many brilliant people who bring them to life’.

The awards also broadcasts live internationally – including on BBC and ITV founded BritBox International in Canada, Denmark, Finland, Norway, South Africa, Sweden and the USA.
This year’s nominations were unveiled on January 5 by former BAFTA Rising Star Award nominees Kingsley Ben-Adir and Naomi Ackie via livestream in London.
Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, Rosamund Pike and Claire Foy are leading the British stars who were nominated for this year’s BAFTA Film Awards.
The nominations for the 2024 ceremony on February 18 were announced in January with other British stars including Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Glazer and Vivian Oparah receiving nods.
Carey is nominated in the Leading Actress category for her role as actress Felicia Montealegre Bernstein in Maestro opposite Bradley Cooper.
Joining her is Vivian Oparah who is up for her role in romantic comedy Rye Lane.
They will be vying for the award alongside Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Margot Robbie for Barbie and Emma Stone for Poor Things.
In the Supporting Actress category, Emily is nominated for Oppenheimer, Rosamund for Saltburn and Claire for All Of Us Strangers.
They are up against Danielle Brooks for The Color Purple, Sandra Huller for Zone Of Interest and Da’Vine Joy Randolph for The Handovers.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan was nominated for Director for his work on Oppenheimer which received the most nominations of any film with 13.
Joining him is Jonathan Glazer who was nominated for The Zone Of Interest and Andrew Haigh for All Of Us Strangers.
Oppenheimer, which was a box office juggernaut when it was released in cinemas last year on the same day as Barbie – sparking the Barbenheimer phenomenon – marks a crowning achievement for Nolan, who has never won the directing Bafta.
