British television’s most glittering event of the year returns to the nation’s screens tonight with the 2025 BAFTA awards.

Leading the pack in terms of nominations is Netflix drama Baby Reindeer with eight nods for honours including the limited drama category while Richard Gadd is up for best actor.

ITV’s Mr Bates vs The Post Office, Disney hit Rivals and Apple TV thriller Slow Horses have each received six nominations.

Tonight’s ceremony at London’s Royal Festival Hall will see Scottish actor Alan Cumming debut as host after comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett fronted the awards last year.

The Scottish actor Alan Cumming will host the 2025 awards. For the past two years Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan have done the honours.

The actor and US Traitors host, 60, is renowned for his celebrated career in the arts, spanning television, film, and theatre.

From his Tony and Olivier award winning performance in Cabaret, to his memorable performance in The Good Wife, Alan is recognised for his versatility both on-screen and behind the scenes.

How can I watch the ceremony?

The ceremony held at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall will be broadcast on iPlayer and BBC One from 7pm on Sunday 11 May.

This year’s ceremony will feature two exclusive music performances from Jessie J and Tom Grennan, as well as award-winning concert violinist Esther Abrami for the In Memoriam tribute.
