Backstreet Boys singer Brian Littrell has sued a Florida county – where he and his family have a beach house – over trespassers.
In his complaint, filed June 19, the 50-year-old claims the Walton County Sheriff’s Office are not helping control trespassers sunbathing on his private Santa Rosa Beach property.
Under his company’s LLC, ‘BLB Beach Hut,’ Littrell filed a writ of mandamus – a court order compelling a public official to perform a legally mandated duty.
The court document, obtained by the Daily Mail, includes background information for the court explaining that ‘BLB [Beach Hut LLC] is owned by Brian Littrell of a famous musical group, the Backstreet Boys.’
‘To protect and have peaceful enjoyment of the Subject Property, BLB has put up several “No Trespassing” signs, as well as chairs, umbrellas and small tables delineating BLB’s private property,’ the complaint reads.
‘However, BLB’s efforts have been in vain, as numerous trespassers have set out to antagonize, bully and harass the Littrell family by regularly, every day, trespassing on BLB’s beach on the Subject Property, in open defiance of the law.’

The 55-year-old singer informed the Florida court he, the owner of the property, is part of ‘a famous musical group, the Backstreet Boys’ (pictured in May 2025). From left: Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell
Littrell has been married to wife Leighanne, 55, since 2000 and they have one child together – 22-year-old son Baylee, who recently appeared on American Idol. Littrell purchased the Santa Rosa Beach home in 2023 for $3.8 million.
The court document goes on to state that Littrell was ‘forced to hire security to protect [his family],’ and that he even filled out a ‘Walton County Trespass Authorization Form’ back in April, authorizing the sheriff to ‘warn’ and ‘prosecute’ anyone who remained on the property after being told to leave.
The singer claims that the sheriff ‘made it clear that his office would not’ go to the property to ‘protect the Littrell family’ despite their ‘numerous requests’ that the law be enforced.
The document cites past dates that Littrell has requested police officer help – including once on May 4, when an officer allegedly stated he ‘doesn’t agree with private beaches’ and described upholding BLB’s constitutional rights as ‘lunacy.’
In another instance, on June 5, 2025, Littrell writes that trespassers committed a ‘battery and theft’ after BLB’s property manager showed them documentation proving that it was private property. According to the document, the trespassers responded by ‘yanking a folder’ out of the manager’s hands and scattering the papers into the wind across the beach.
The claim states Littrell has evidence proving the Sheriff’s Office is working against him, including body camera footage that shows ‘multiple instances of disrespect’ against BLB’s agents and responding officers.
A summons was filed on June 23, stating the Walton County Sheriff’s Office has 20 days to respond to the lawsuit.

Littrell states in the court docs that he’s attempted to have police officers help with trespassers numerous times in the past – including once on May 4. But, the officer stated that he ‘doesn’t agree with private beaches’ and described upholding BLB’s constitutional rights as ‘lunacy’
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office has not replied to the Daily Mail’s request for comment.
It appears this feud has been an issue since the couple gained ownership of the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bathroom home in February 2023.
A video that went viral on TikTok in April 2023 showed footage of Littrell and his wife arguing with beach goers about property lines.
In the clip, Leighanne is seen going back and forth with the visitor in the heated argument, pointing out that he should be on ‘water’s edge,’ rather than on her private property.
Meanwhile, Littrell is seen holding up a ‘No Trespassing’ sign. After the visitor tells Leighanne that he’s ‘not f***ing moving’ because he believes he’s close enough to the water’s edge, he tells her to call the cops.
The TikToker then described what happened next: ‘Code enforcement came by and showed them where their property line is in the sand. Their deed does not say they owned to the main high water line. There’s actually a line in the sand.’
The clip ends with Leighanne attempting to stop the person from recording her and informing him that she’s going to grab the phone.
This isn’t the first time the Littrell family has had issues with locals.

In 2019, Littrell was blasted by neighbors in a North Fulton community for throwing parties. The local news station, WSB-TV, interviewed neighbors, who complained about the ruckus and alleged helicopter use.
One resident insisted, ‘It’s a liability for me because I have horses, I have children. Children play on this property all the time. I never in a million years thought I’d have to tell my kids, “Watch out for helicopters.”‘
Another neighbor demanded, ‘We can’t allow just some random neighbor to skirt the rules and put up a helicopter pad. That’s all we ask, that the neighbors that live in this community be good neighbors and follow the letter of the law.’
Littrell and his wife issued a lengthy statement at the time, denying the aircraft use.
‘Brian and Leighanne Littrell have been members of the City of Milton for over two decades and are fully committed in preserving its rich history. The Freemanville Estate will be their second home in the area, and they do not intend to jeopardize the existing quality of life of residents in the community,’ a statement read.
‘The recently paved area at the Freemanville Estate was to add available parking for the Littrells’ guests. They have no plans to use this surface as a landing pad for any type of aircraft. Any and all activities that have occurred at the Freemanville Estate have been private gatherings consisting of the Littrells’ friends and family.’
Their statement concluded, ‘Having raised their family in the City of Milton, the Littrells know firsthand how wonderful this community is for families, and will continue to do their part to advance the City of Milton.’
It appears Littrell might be getting a break from the heckling Florida trespassers and complaining Georgia neighbors.
