Bachelor’s Dr. Matt Agnew and MasterChef Australia’s Khanh Ong Enjoy Movie Night Together Amidst Romance Rumors Dismissal

The Bachelor’s Dr Matt Agnew and MasterChef Australia star Khanh Ong sweetly cuddled each other as they gave an insight into their cosy movie night.

The best friends have a close bond and have previously laughed off romance rumours, saying the speculation stems from the stereotype that men ‘can’t show affection’.

And MasterChef fan favourite Khanh, 30, has given an insight into their latest meet-up, taking to his Instagram Stories to document their cosy movie night in.

Khanh sweetly lay across Matt, 36, as he was left in complete hysterics trying to recall his friend’s embarrassing antics while they were watching a movie.

He tried to ask fans if a certain behaviour was ‘normal’, but was unable to get the words out as he was reduced to fits of laughter.

In a second video, he managed to ask: ‘Is it normal for your best friend to literally fart in front of you while you’re watching a movie and pretend that nothing happened? Is it?’

However, Matt firmly denied Khanh’s accusation as he said through laughter: ‘I didn’t fart! It wasn’t me!’

Khanh held up a toy Pikachu and asked Matt whether the character was responsible, as he remained very unconvinced by his defence.

Matt and Khanh recently denied that they were involved romantically and urged others to be more affectionate with their friends after they were hit by speculation due to their close bond.

Speaking on the Feast podcast, Matt said: ‘It’s the lack of affection straight men show other men that people assume there must be something sexual there.

‘Being affectionate and tactile with your friends, and blokes especially need to do more of this. Everyone should be comfortable enough in their sexuality that they don’t feel uncomfortable showing affection, men or women.

‘There’s that random line in the sand – nah blokes can’t show affection – which is stupid,’ he added.

Matt went on to explain how they will call each other to arrange a ‘movie night’ or to ‘have a cuddle’ as he gave an insight into their supportive friendship.

‘Humans are very social creatures. Cuddles and embraces, that releases dopamine and makes you feel good,’ he said.

‘For everyone, women and men, cuddling is important. That physical comfort and being able to feel safe. It’s something inherently human.’

Khanh, who is gay, also previously laughed off the rumours and told how they have been friends for years and provide each other with companionship.

‘The rumours are hilarious because he (Matt) is the straightest cis-gendered male and I am obviously gay. We are friends and we hang out,’ he told Daily Mail Australia in June.

‘We provide something to each other that I think we are both missing and that is just companionship,’ he went on.

‘We have dinners, we talk about our careers and what we want to do next, and it’s just a sounding board where there is no judgement and I think that is a really healthy relationship.’

‘I think the funniest thing is, is that I could be doing this with a girlfriend and no one could expect me to be dating them,’ he added.

Matt appeared on the 2019 series of the Channel 10 dating show The Bachelor, which saw him ride off into the sunset with Chelsie McLeod.

However, the romance fizzled out after three months, and he later confirmed he was dating comedian Gen Fricker, before revealing he was single.
