Aussie influencers are making quite a splash online with a new bikini trend.
Social media stars including Tammy Hembrow, Skye Wheatley and Brittany Hockley have been flaunting their figures in revealing two-piece swimsuits consisting of elasticated ‘triangle’ G-strings, which some say look like a nappy or disposable underwear worn during a spray tan.
Australian beauty queen Gabby Epstein also recently flaunted her extremely slender frame on social media in a skimpy leopard G-string version of the trend.
However, many fans flocked to the comments claiming the bizarre bikini bottom was unflattering.
‘That is the most unflattering bathing suit I’ve ever seen,’ one person wrote. ‘Those bottoms ugly AF,’ a second agreed.
Skye was also called out by her fans for her racy display in the two-piece, with one commenting: ‘That bikini looks like lingerie.’
Meanwhile, Brittany has also embraced the trend, wearing several different colours of the swimsuit style on her engagement moon to the Maldives with her fiancé, Swiss football player Benjamin Siegrist.

Celebrity stylist Jess Pecoraro, who works with the likes of Jackie O Henderson and Megan Gale, told Daily Mail Australia the bikini style is really only flattering on one body type.
‘It is great on say a Georgia Fowler or a Dominique Elissa. If you are incredibly toned, fine,’ she explained.
She says when it comes to swimwear, especially when you get older, more covered up styles with a chic cut can be sexier than the barely-there trends.
‘I think as you get older you start to feel like “I don’t have to wear the nappy bikini to look sexy”,’ she says.
‘I can wear a beautiful one-piece and still be like, “Hey, I’m hotter than the girl that’s wearing the nappy bikini”.’

It comes after another surprising new trend recently emerged out of Miami Swim Week 2024.
Designers are taking inspiration from 1990s fashion and now creating rosette bikinis using the popular flower-shaped decoration.
Sought-after brands like Mahogany Coast Swim, Ema Savahl, and Diva Boutique chose to hero the statement flower.
Rosette details add a three-dimensional element and feminine touch to swimwear, making this season’s pieces feel romantic yet racy.

The Blue Topaz show chose to embrace the trend in a subtle way by attaching white rosettes to a strapless bikini set – but Milus Rose went all out and fashioned stringy bikini tops out of tiny rosettes only meant to cover the wearer’s nipples.
As countless fashion brands revamp Y2K styles, the swim industry chose to skip over neon-bright triangles in favour of the classier – yet somehow more scandalous – trend.
A model walked the Milus Rose show in a pink crocheted bikini with tiny rosettes for a top.
The designer also showcased a two-tone denim bikini where one bra cup consisted of a rosette while the other was a simple triangle.
