Disney has a lot in store after a big first day at the 2024 D23 Expo.
On Friday, the studio kicked off its annual fan convention with updates around Avatar 3, Moana 2 and the long-awaited Incredibles 3, which was officially confirmed.
Avatar: Fire and Ash was revealed as the title for the third installment as director James Cameron took to the stage with stars Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington.
‘New cultures and settings… you’ll see more of Pandora the planet than you ever see saw before,’ said Cameron, according to Deadline.
‘The new film isn’t what you expect, but it’s definitely what you want,’ he added of the movie, which premieres Dec. 19, 2025.

Disney also unveiled the first trailer for Moana 2 on Friday, ahead of its November 27 premiere in 2009.
The trailer reveals Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as the voice of Moana’ adoring little sister Simea.
OG stars Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho also made an appearance, with the latter debuting the song ‘We’re Back’ from the upcoming sequel, Just Jared reported.
The first Moana premiered in 2016, earning more than $643 billion worldwide.
Pixar CCO Pete Docter announced that Incredibles 3 is happening with returning director Brad Bird, according to Deadline.
The announcement comes after Incredibles 2 premiered in 2018, 14 years after the original.
Additionally, Rachel Zegler was revealed as the fairest of them all in the first trailer for the live-action Snow White.
The sneak peek also shows a first look at Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen ahead of the March 21, 2025 premiere.

Disney+ and Lucasfilm debuted the first trailer for the upcoming series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, premiering December 3 on the streamer.

‘I fell in love with Star Wars when I was a 10-year-old boy. [This] series is told from the perspective of the kids,’ he teased, according to Deadline.
Docter also announced that an Inside Out series spin-off entitled Dream Productions is premiering later this year on Disney+.
Set between the first Inside Out (2015) and the recent sequel, the show is ‘set in the studio where Riley’s dreams are made every night on time and on budget,’ Deadline reported.

Inside Out 2 premiered in June, grossing $1.56 billion, nearly a decade after the original movie premiered in 2015.
Pixar also teased Toy Story 5 is coming in 2026, reuniting Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie amid a new era for kids entertainment.
‘This time around, it’s toy meets tech,’ said director Andrew Stanton, according to People. ‘It’s going to be fun, and we can’t wait for you all see it in the summer of 2026.’
The first Toy Story premiered in 1995, followed by sequels in 1999, 2010 and 2019.
In 2022, Buzz got his own spin-off in Lightyear, featuring the voice of Chris Evans as the titular astronaut.
