An Aussie actor has made the bold decision to remove $10,000 worth of tattoos after facing rejection from Netflix.
Samuel Davies, who chronicled his journey on TikTok, explained how he landed the role as Colin Donnell’s body double on the American TV series Arrow, only to have Netflix pull out due to his tattoos requiring daily coverage.
‘I liked my tattoos and I wanted to keep them but here’s the gimmick,’ he told viewers.
‘I decided to change career and move into acting and that recently was a Netflix series where I had the job as the main actor’s double.’
‘And then they decided they didn’t want to take me on because they didn’t want to cover up my tattoos every single day, so I decided to start taking them off and it’s been a process of two years so far,’ Samuel revealed.

So far, Davies has had six laser removal sessions, costing between $500-$600 each.
He explained that patients are required to wait between sessions.
‘You do have to wait eight weeks between each session for it to heal and go back in,’ he explained.
‘The longer you wait, the more your body starts to eat the ink away… you can see that some spots have taken longer,’ he added.

The treatment also requires patients to avoid sunlight for four weeks and water for four to eight weeks.
Despite the setbacks, the actor, who appeared as an extra in Baz Luhrmann’s 2022 film Elvis, remains determined to complete the removal within the next year.
He shared an update with social media followers, revealing that he’s still actively pursuing acting.
‘Still acting and they’re much easier to cover up now they’re fading so much. Have been on a couple of movies and some tv series,’ he said.
