Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has been filmed attempting a trendy TikTok challenge, dancing to Taylor Swift’s tune The Fate of Ophelia.
Well known as a music fan, the PM was appearing on Nova 100 yesterday when Clint Stanaway challenged him to perform the routine, which has become a viral sensation.
A video of the cringey moment was later shared on the station’s social media.
In the clip, the PM is seen clumsily attempting a series of arm movements and dance steps alongside hosts Clint and co-host Lauren Phillips.
At one point, Mr Albanese appeared to completely crack up, as he waved his arms up and down and spun in a circle.
‘This is so embarrassing,’ a mortified Lauren said, as the tune finished.

Turning to the PM, who appeared to be in hysterics at the antics of the radio stars, she said: ‘I don’t know who is the most embarrassed.’
The bizarre moment attracted a slew of comments on Nova’s Instagram share, with many taking a dig at the PM.
‘What an embarrassment,’ wrote another.
‘Omg he has about as much rhythm as old Joe Biden,’ said one more.
‘You’ve got to stop with this twit,’ commented.
However, others were quick to praise him.
‘Good to see the PM can have a good time,’ messaged one Nova fan.

The song, from the superstar’s bestselling 12th album The Life of a Showgirl, is reputedly a tribute to Taylor’s fiancé, Travis Kelce.
This isn’t the first time the Prime Minister has been mocked after he has shown a lighter side to his character.
Back in July, he shared his favourite Aussie songs on social media.
At the time, radio station Triple J was calling for votes for their Hottest 100 of Australian Songs and the PM decided to weigh in on Instagram.
At number one, Mr Albanese listed The Angels track Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again and at number two, Cold Chisel’s Flame Trees.
‘Hard to narrow down to just 10,’ he wrote in his caption alongside his list.
His followers were less than impressed, with many slating the politician for choosing to share a frivolous social media post instead of addressing larger issues like the war in Palestine.
‘Your PR team going into overdrive to try and make you seem human / relatable… but there is NOTHING relatable to a PM who has absolutely lost touch with his humanity,’ wrote one person.
‘This post is SO tone deaf it is shocking,’ wrote someone else while one more commented, ‘NO ONE CARES what your picks are.’
Another said: ‘Seriously??? This is what gets posted??? Far out. What a disgrace.’
