TikTok star Jesse Sunset sat down with the famous Roberts surfing family on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to celebrate Australia Day with an Aussie beer taste test in a quest to find the country’s best and worst ales.
The digital creator and the Avalon beach legends, who themselves are popular on the video sharing app, shared their thoughts on Australia’s best and worst beers.
First up was surfer Blaze Angel Roberts who admitted she doesn’t drink alcohol, but partook in the experiment with a bottle of zero alcohol Peroni.
However, she was not impressed with the booze-free beer offering, taking a sip and declaring, ‘that’s disgusting. Two out of ten!’
Next up was her surfing sibling Hunter Roberts who tucked into a bottle of Balter’s Cerveza, which she picked, ‘because it looked the most like a Corona’.

‘Oh my gosh tastes exactly like Corona!’ she exclaimed, comparing it to the popular Mexican beer.
Hunter then added her score of ‘eight out of ten’ saying she was impressed and ‘would recommend’ it.
Family patriarch and legendary surfer Pete Roberts was next up but confessed he doesn’t have much of a taste for beer.
‘I’m not a beer drinker. I prefer bourbon’ he said, but picked a Balter Lager to try, which he had never had before.
‘What the heck? I’ll give that a five out of ten’ he said after a dubious sip.

Blaze’s boyfriend, surfer Joel Herbert (pictured), picked the The Dawdler Low Carb Lager and explained it was a beer company owned by Sydney band Lime Cordiale. ‘Pretty good. Very larger-y. It’s definitely a larger. It’s very good. Give it seven or eight out of ten’ he said
‘It’s a bit bitter, but then all beer is bitter. It’s not a Heineken and it’s not a Sapporo’ he added, referencing beers he had previously enjoyed.
Roberts matriarch Fee Roberts was up next, and skipped the beer for an alcoholic ginger beer from Mountain Goat instead.
‘Oh yum, that’s really nice. I like that. Nine out of ten!’ she said after sampling it, adding, ‘Just tastes like ginger beer.’
When explaining why she didn’t score it a ten, Fee said, ‘Because it’s not a Canada Club’ meaning the popular brand of carbonated ginger beer.

TikToker Jesse weighed in last, choosing a Great Northern which he informed his audience is ‘actually the number one selling beer in Australia at the moment.’
‘It’s pretty hot in Australia, especially here in summertime, and you want a smooth crisp, refreshing beer, and this is one of those’ he said, giving the Great Northern beer a score of nine out of ten.
