He played P.J. Hasham in the long-running police drama Blue Heelers.
But Martin Sacks looked unrecognisable during a rare beach outing in Byron Bay on Monday.
The beloved Australian actor, 65, took a refreshing dip in the ocean before soaking up the warm sun on the sand.
Martin wore black shorts and sported a very short haircut as he dried himself off with a towel.
The rare sighting comes after the actor landed a role in Netflix’s new Aussie series The Survivors alongside Yerin Ha and Charlie Vickers.
The show, based on Jane Harper’s best-selling novel, follows Kieran Elliott as he returns to his hometown in Tasmania to confront his past after the death of his brother.

Martin has played some of Australia’s most memorable film and television characters, including prison chief Derek Channing in gripping prison drama Wentworth.
The Byron Bay-born star’s most iconic role is in Blue Heelers alongside Lisa McCune.
The role established him as one of the country’s most talented and engaging actors, and earned him five consecutive TV Week Silver Logies for Most Popular Actor.
Since then, Martin has featured in some of acclaimed television drama series including Offspring, Underbelly, City Homicide, Sea Patrol, Rescue: Special Ops and Rake.
Blue Heelers, which ran for 12 years from 1994 to 2006 on the Seven network starred a large cast of fan favourites including Lisa, Julie Nihill and John Wood.
It is the fourth-most popular TV show in Australian history, with 25 Logies to its name, while lead actress Lisa McCune won four Gold Logies for the series.
Many major Australian actors who went on to stellar careers were featured in guest roles over the show’s long run including Hollywood great Hugh Jackman and Peter O’Brien.
Other actors include Charles ‘Bud’ Tingwell, from Crawford’s classic Homicide series of the 60s and 70s as well as SeaChange star John Howard.

Australians were in tears when Lisa’s character Maggie Doyle was fatally shot in dramatic scenes on the show in 2000.
Almost two decades on from the iconic TV moment, the actress revealed in 2018 that she never wanted the police officer to die.
In the police drama, Maggie was shot and killed a day before she was due to enter witness protection, after she found a computer disk with information about a gang.
She told news.com.au: ‘I understand why they had to do it, but I think because I knew she had such a strong, young female following I felt really strongly that I wanted her to stay alive.’
