William Shatner turned 93-years-old on Friday.
And the Star Trek legend talked about still feeling youthful when at the premiere of his documentary You Can Call Me Bill on Thursday.
He said the secret to staying young was to ‘stay engaged in life, to stay curious,’ Shatner explained to People.
‘Your life’s energy, the soul energy of your body is a product of health. If you’re sick, you can’t be energetic. You’re dying. So my luck has been, I’ve been healthy all my life,’ he said.
He also credited his wife Elizabeth Shatner, 64, with keeping him young.
They were married from 2001 to 2020, and then reconciled with each other in 2023.

In a 2023 interview with The Mirror, the TJ Hooker alum heaped more praise on his wife.
‘My wife … she is the zest of life. She brings the flavor.’
On Thursday night, Shatner told People how he felt about turning 93, saying he feels pretty calm about celebrating the start of his 94th year of life.
‘Well, birthdays are purportedly a big day. I suppose there’s a reason for somebody outside to celebrate, “Oh my God, 93,”‘ he said, adding, ‘I’m not glorying in it.’
In January 2023, Shatner told Variety he was making his documentary because he didn’t have long to live and he wanted his grandchildren to know him after he’s gone.
‘Whether I keel over as I’m speaking to you or 10 years from now, my time is limited, so that’s very much a factor. I’ve got grandchildren. This documentary is a way of reaching out after I die.’
He also revealed he’d been asked many times to have a documentary about his life made.
‘I’ve turned down a lot of offers to do documentaries before. But I don’t have long to live,’ he said.
‘But the luck has a lot to do with it in your health,’ Shatner explained to People

William is father to daughters Leslie, Lisabeth, and Melanie from three previous marriages and is a grandfather to five.
Speaking about his family to The Guardian in 2014 he said: ‘Being a grandparent is the greatest joy for me.
‘I have the time now to grab a grandchild and talk, and hug and kiss them and make sure that I’m taking time to be with them and to give them some aspect of the things I’ve learned’.
‘Family life is totally encompassing. I see my daughters every weekend. And we go off on holidays together – everything from skiing to snorkeling.’
