Sherri Shepherd took to social media on Tuesday to address the news of her talk show's cancellation.

Earlier this week, it was announced that the 58-year-old host's eponymous daytime program is getting the axe this fall after four seasons.
Coincidentally, Shepherd has been absent from the daily program in the wake of the update.
Shepherd wrote on Instagram this week, 'Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and The @sherrishowtv.
'You might’ve noticed that yesterday and today I was struggling because I wasn’t feeling up to speed. Well it turns out I have Covid.'
The standup comic went on to say, 'As soon as I feel better and return to the show, I will address all of the news that has come out.'

Shepherd's caption was accompanied by two slides featuring screen grabs of supportive social media comments from fans.

'Sherri’s show was positive, funny and she genuinely was good at the job,' one person wrote.
Another said, 'This saddens me. I watch Sherri every single day. I love her.'
A fan named Tasha Jackson weighed in, 'What a shame. Great show. So much laughter and love. @sherrishowtv we will continue to support you in your next journey. All love.'
Fellow talk show host Tamron Hall offered a note of encouragement, writing in the comments, 'You just wrote your first children’s book. You are on an epic comedy tour, you have a podcast and you took over a daytime space and made it your own.
'I’m tired just listing all you have done! And the list of next chapter moments will be amazing ✈️❤️ love you Family.'

Co-presidents of Lionsgate's Debmar–Mercury sector, Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus, released a statement about the show's cancellation on Monday.

'This decision is driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd,' they said in part, per Variety.
It was added: 'We believe in this show and in Sherri and intend to explore alternatives for it on other platforms.'
Sherri launched in the fall of 2022, replacing the time slot originally held by Wendy Williams's show, which aired for 13 seasons.
